Any evidence he actually doped? Sky supporters tell me that working with a doping doctor doesnt actually prove anything, so I think we must conclude that Basso has always been cleans.

Gazzetta dello Sport doesn't agree with you

On twitter a sky fan said I needed to stop with casting these doubts without proof etc...we talked of transformations. He said that 36th in the 2009 'dope ridden giro' was a good result.

This is typical of the double standards of sky fans. Anything short of a needle with epo going into the arm of a sky rider, on video, will not suffice.

For everyone else no worries at all.

can we please stop making these accusations against people with no proof. Look I am all for clean sport. But show me the evidence that he did dope and didn't just think about it!!

LOL. So presumably he also agrees that 2nd in a dope-ridden Vuelta was a good result too? These people are so thick.

has Thomas Dekker been mentioned here yet? For once I might agree with ryo on a rider being clean.

Ah yes wiggos good friend Ivan basso. The kne who arranged Wiggins participation in the 2013 giro which was the greatest thing to happen to the giro in it's 10 year history since the Italians decided to have their own version of the tour de France and tour of Britain and name it after the helmet.

Strange though. I though Wiggins hated dopers, and that this was the motivation that kept him from touching so much as a paracetamol, while he was workout warrioring jn the off-season encountering all the problems clean athletes encounter while doing 6 hours of training a day, that dopers never have to worry about.

And yet he is paisans with basso.

Doesn't make sense to me.

Good one :D

It might if you consider that Wiggins earns his living by riding a bike.

I don't know what you do for a living, or if indeed you are at that point yet (and no, that isn't an attempt at an insult) but you might find yourself in the working world having to get along with people you despise.

(But yes, your insinuation of hypocrisy works just as well)

Your (disingenuous) view that Basso was clean.

They have a note written by Fuentes implicating Basso by name, iiirc.

Yes
Funny that. being implicated with Fuentes proves doping, but having Leinders on your team proves nothing.

You think Wiggins despises basso?

n fact, the Giro didn't even have to ask. Race director and RCS Sport general director Michele Acquarone tells The Associated Press he first heard about Wiggins' plans from two-time Giro champion Ivan Basso.

During the Tour of Britain in September, Basso sent Acquarone a message saying that Wiggins had told him casually that he was interested in racing the Giro. Acquarone forwarded the message to Dave Brailsford, the general manager of Wiggins' team, Sky, to ask if there was any truth to it.

If you have some evidence that Leinders was running a doping program while at team Sky then you might have a point.

We do however have lots of evidence that Fuentes was running a doping program.

However if you think that employing a doctor that had a doping past means that they are inevitably running a doping program, you have just implicated an awful lot of riders in the peleton, not just at team sky.

So association with a doping doctor and dominating a GT is enough?

So you also think Wiggins dopes?

What the ****?

He admitted that Birillo blood bags were his.

That depends on what that 'association' entails. If it means booking yourself in to the clinic of a notorious doping doctor to seek his doping services, and leave a trail of evidence then yes, I'd say there was a fair likelihood that he did dope. I think it would be a fairly safe assumption that he doped previously too.

He must be terribly embarrassed by his brother in law, though ;)

So you also think Wiggins dopes?

Are you asking me if I think Wiggins dopes, or are you implying that it is inferred by something else I've said?

You've made a rather clumsy attempt to ensnare me with your 'association with doping doctor' thing, but let's just say whilsts the Leinders thing is highly suspicious it is not in equivalence to Fuentes.

I notice Fuentes clients didn't seem to publiscise that they worked with him, whereas Sky listed Leinders on their website.

You'd have thought that post-Puerto, if Sky were to hire a doctor for doping, they perhaps wouldn't shout it from the rooftops. I minded of this point every time I read on here that Brailsford must have known about Lenders past. If he knew, why did he publicise the hiring of Leinders?

Doesn't make sense.

But to answer your question about whether I think Wiggins has ever doped, I'd say probably. I'd say the same of Froome too. In fact I'd say the same of most pro riders.

That's probably not very helpful but there we are.

Oh no, the peloton is doping, who would've thought that............

AFAIK the verdict was that he prepared to dope, not that he did dope.

Okay.

Let's get back to this topic when there is a blood bag with a Sky rider name on it.
