the sceptic said:Any evidence he actually doped? Sky supporters tell me that working with a doping doctor doesnt actually prove anything, so I think we must conclude that Basso has always been cleans.

Digger said:On twitter a sky fan said I needed to stop with casting these doubts without proof etc...we talked of transformations. He said that 36th in the 2009 'dope ridden giro' was a good result.
This is typical of the double standards of sky fans. Anything short of a needle with epo going into the arm of a sky rider, on video, will not suffice.
For everyone else no worries at all.
The Hitch said:has Thomas Dekker been mentioned here yet? For once I might agree with ryo on a rider being clean.

Ah yes wiggos good friend Ivan basso. The kne who arranged Wiggins participation in the 2013 giro which was the greatest thing to happen to the giro in it's 10 year history since the Italians decided to have their own version of the tour de France and tour of Britain and name it after the helmet.stutue said:Gazzetta dello Sport doesn't agree with you
the sceptic said:On what?
Do you think Basso was a doper?

Strange though. I though Wiggins hated dopers, and that this was the motivation that kept him from touching so much as a paracetamol, while he was workout warrioring jn the off-season encountering all the problems clean athletes encounter while doing 6 hours of training a day, that dopers never have to worry about.
And yet he is paisans with basso.
Doesn't make sense to me.
Funny that. being implicated with Fuentes proves doping, but having Leinders on your team proves nothing.stutue said:Your (disingenuous) view that Basso was clean.
They have a note written by Fuentes implicating Basso by name, iiirc.
Yes

It might if you consider that Wiggins earns his living by riding a bike.
I don't know what you do for a living, or if indeed you are at that point yet (and no, that isn't an attempt at an insult) but you might find yourself in the working world having to get along with people you despise.
(But yes, your insinuation of hypocrisy works just as well)
n fact, the Giro didn't even have to ask. Race director and RCS Sport general director Michele Acquarone tells The Associated Press he first heard about Wiggins' plans from two-time Giro champion Ivan Basso.
During the Tour of Britain in September, Basso sent Acquarone a message saying that Wiggins had told him casually that he was interested in racing the Giro. Acquarone forwarded the message to Dave Brailsford, the general manager of Wiggins' team, Sky, to ask if there was any truth to it.

Netserk said:So association with a doping doctor and dominating a GT is enough?
So you also think Wiggins dopes?
AFAIK the verdict was that he prepared to dope, not that he did dope.roundabout said:What the ****?
He admitted that Birillo blood bags were his.

However if you think that employing a doctor that had a doping past means that they are inevitably running a doping program, you have just implicated an awful lot of riders in the peleton, not just at team sky.
