Clearly a rider wanting to drop two levels from World Tour to Continental is not the reason the rules exist. Obviously you need rules when riders are transferring between teams at the same level, but I don't think Wiggins transferring to his new little Continental Team Wiggo for TofY will be affecting any teams ranking at World Tour level lol! Good on UCI for applying common sense!

Except UCI rules forbid 2 teams with the same sponsor being in the same race. I guess they have turned a blind eye to that rule too.

Uncle Brian sorted that out for them.

Totally overlooked the British teams that had actually contributed something, i.e JTL & Raleigh. They however saw the discontent on Social media and allowed them to race.

Surly to be in contention of a possible win at PR he needs racing in his legs?

Also Drapac were allowed at the TDU despite sharing Jaguar with Sky.

He's been pretty average to below average for a few weeks now.
-DNS Challenge Mallorca,
-75th at Qatar
-44th at Niuewsblad,
-DNS Paris Nice,
-DNS E3 and
-DNF Ghent-Whelgem (let's be fair, that was extreme and miserable for all)

Long season ahead !!

I think Team Wiggins is mentioned as a Continental squad. You'd have to spend some time with the rules to figure out how it all works. And the rules are complicated. Just like Armstrong, they don't really apply anyway.

IMO, ASO wants him there to justify raiding the local budget.

Wiggins is a disgrace...absolute disgrace of a human being.

Agree. If Wiggins wins roubaix it will be up there amongst the most blatant doped up performances in cycling history

Like every single rider who has ever won Roubaix. They're all utterly ridiculous.

Good doper

you are right

with which clean Ronde winner could Wigging have take a picture?
Van Hooydonck perhaps
Did he have to take a picture with a Ronde winner? And call it an honour to meet him? Spread the picture around?
Didn't they rip a picture of Virenque from the Tour de France roadbook because he was an evil doper?
But yeah, Wiggo thought it was a good idea to pose with one of the bigger frauds in history (first generation EPO abuser, lied when caught, says it was all okay) and say he was honoured

Why do that if you're anti doping?

Yes, this thread is going to blow up if he wins on Sunday.

Rightfully so. Wiggins winning roubaix would be up there with the most obvious doped performances in cycling history.

Such a fantastic build up. Other than a single, short TT win, has he done anything or note?

Marginal gains come in many variations...

Seeming to be weak and do no effort pre-(the important) race is one of them...

Surely we will be explained all this after he gets the trophy.....
