Clearly a rider wanting to drop two levels from World Tour to Continental is not the reason the rules exist. Obviously you need rules when riders are transferring between teams at the same level, but I don't think Wiggins transferring to his new little Continental Team Wiggo for TofY will be affecting any teams ranking at World Tour level lol! Except UCI rules forbid 2 teams with the same sponsor being in the same race. I guess they have turned a blind eye to that rule too.

Totally overlooked the British teams that had actually contributed something, i.e JTL & Raleigh. They however saw the discontent on Social media and allowed them to race.

Surly to be in contention of a possible win at PR he needs racing in his legs?

Also Drapac were allowed at the TDU despite sharing Jaguar with Sky.

I think Team Wiggins is mentioned as a Continental squad. You'd have to spend some time with the rules to figure out how it all works. And the rules are complicated. Just like Armstrong, they don't really apply anyway.

IMO, ASO wants him there to justify raiding the local budget.
