Even if Wiggins is a massive dope fiend he's still an amazing cyclist, the man can do pretty much anything, I'm sure he'd have won many monuments if he had the time and inclination for them.

Whaaa....?

Yeah, even if 100% focused on that, we would maybe be able to win one P-R in a career. The other monuments, no chance. Isn't that kinda rider.

That said, doping or not, respect. I bet ya Froome didn't like Wiggins won gold again, but then on the other hand, he should pretty much have given up on eclipsing SIR BRADLEY at this point... at least in the eyes of the brits. Never gonna happen, there will only be one Sir.
i bet you anything froome gets a knighthood this year.

Maybe if Froome had won Olympic Gold. Same can be said of Cav

Wiggins still stealing from the clean. What a gentleman.
Insinuating the Australian squad were all cleans and he isn't, or how should that be interpreted?
no. Not at all.
Clean riders don't get onto the Olympic programme in the first place.
The Aussies are also stealing, but since this is the Wiggins thread.

I think Froome should seriously consider taking up track in the future. Perhaps grab another TDF and/or another GT and then focus solely on track for Tokyo 2020. He'll only be 34-35, Wiggins is 36. Obviously Wiggins will retire this year, but Froome could do all sorts of magic in this coming Olympic cycle.

I don't think a lot of the public are that interested in Wiggins anymore - he's yesterdays news to some extent. I think a lot of it in 2012 was due to it being a home olympics.
'Wiggins becomes most decorated olympian' is the main headline on the BBC news site, not the sport site, the news.

That's because the Olympics is the main headline on the BBC News Site at the moment, so nothing Wiggo specific. It is bl00dy annoying though - I know the Olympics is important, but life goes on elsewhere.

It's 2 weeks every 4 years. And we've moved from 11th in the medal table to 3rd. So I'll accept the BBC shouting about it a bit. Don't worry - it'll all be over soon, and we can go back to politics.

Was it medication? If it was, what was it? How do you know it was for asthma?

I used to get seasonal asthma as a kid. I had seasonal medication. Now I only get it if I'm in a hot humid environment and I'm really exerting myself (like in a rave tent at a festival). I don't bother with medication, but if I was up for a medal for my dancing skills I probably would.

The question is why he didn't use that inhaler in the loo instead of broad daylight with hundreds on cameras trained on him

No secret that Wiggins was asthmatic then

Man, friend of man accused of sexism, claims he has never seen sexism by that friend, which is claimed by multiple women, and then dismisses these women, including multiple Olympic champions, as bitter losers who didn't make the grade.

Can't see the problem...

Yes, it might have been better if he had said nothing at all. Alas, Wiggins knows where the bodies are buried, he's not about to talk on Sutton.

Sad part of it, Wiggins in protecting the S man, stabbed a lot of his female colleagues in the back.

Blame the victim, classy. But would you expect anything less from a man who asked the Compère to 'suck him off' at a Barnardos charity do!

BC consists of lots of talented cyclists but only the chosen ones are allowed to 'make the grade'. Those that aren't chosen are often bitter but it doesn't mean they're making it up.

You have to feel for Jess Varnish, Sutton will be let off and the recent success will (MIB) neuralize the mob as to recent events, they will then turn against her. Also, seeing the post-Worlds improvements from many of her team mates, will probably reinforce her thinking that she could have medalled (had she been allowed to participate more in the qualification process).

Of course Sir Brad's narrative falls down because I seem to remember Nicole Cooke and Victoria Pendleton had a lot to say and I wouldn't describe them as having failed to 'make the grade'. If only Brad was balanced enough to model himself on their behavioural example when in public, he could have been a class act.
