I think Froome should seriously consider taking up track in the future. Perhaps grab another TDF and/or another GT and then focus solely on track for Tokyo 2020. He'll only be 34-35, Wiggins is 36. Obviously Wiggins will retire this year, but Froome could do all sorts of magic in this coming Olympic cycle.

It's 2 weeks every 4 years. And we've moved from 11th in the medal table to 3rd. So I'll accept the BBC shouting about it a bit. Don't worry - it'll all be over soon, and we can go back to politics.

I used to get seasonal asthma as a kid. I had seasonal medication. Now I only get it if I'm in a hot humid environment and I'm really exerting myself (like in a rave tent at a festival). I don't bother with medication, but if I was up for a medal for my dancing skills I probably would.

BC consists of lots of talented cyclists but only the chosen ones are allowed to 'make the grade'. Those that aren't chosen are often bitter but it doesn't mean they're making it up.

You have to feel for Jess Varnish, Sutton will be let off and the recent success will (MIB) neuralize the mob as to recent events, they will then turn against her. Also, seeing the post-Worlds improvements from many of her team mates, will probably reinforce her thinking that she could have medalled (had she been allowed to participate more in the qualification process).

Of course Sir Brad's narrative falls down because I seem to remember Nicole Cooke and Victoria Pendleton had a lot to say and I wouldn't describe them as having failed to 'make the grade'. If only Brad was balanced enough to model himself on their behavioural example when in public, he could have been a class act.
