His sponsor is...
And one rider hardly means riders in general tend to prefer Cali...

“It's always an honor to wear the yellow jersey,” he said. “But I set my stool out to win the Tour of California, and I wanted to add my name to the guys have come before, and I've done that now. At 34 it's nice to still be winning.”

What a goose.

He never said the ToC was a bigger race than the Giro, did he? He stated it was his aim at the start of the season, then ruled out switching to the Giro after Porte and then Kennaugh dropped out. And the sponsors wanted him at the ToC.
And if he is a goose or not why bring it up here, there's a thread in the road racing forum, there's absolutely no relevance to any debate over Wiggins' doping, it's just more venting by people that don't like his character. Whether you like him or not is irrelevant to the issue of doping.
Off topic basically, just more character assassination.

JimmyFingers said:Lol very true, although some of us find that amusing. Still a person's character has no relevance here. Nice guys dope too.

No they don't. The people I know who have walked away or got far less out of the sport than they deserve, are really nice guys. The "nice guys who dope" are the t *****s who pretend to be nice and take in either the naive or the shrewd with their very sophisticated regimen of fraud.JimmyFingers said:....... I agree James.JimmyFingers said:Sorry but that's just a slightly hysterical rant.
Total BS. A friend of mine spent 3-4 years on conti and pro conti teams before getting disillusioned with the state of pro cycling and retiring at the ripe old age of 23.Freddythefrog said:No they don't. The Michael and Dede Barry story is one of those cases. Don't say they are nice, just because they really did a great job of conning us. They did a really great job of conning us because they are complete - ****s
Surely Chris Horner proved this once and for all at last years Vuelta?Mellow Velo said:You didn't know that generic minced up offal wedged in a tasteless bun is far superior to a vast variety of home cooked recipes made from fresh produce?
