DNF.

Should have been more like Lance and save the best dope for himself.

Fancy letting the borgs get on the same gear so they beat you.

Hamilton said that in his book. he felt Lance had something else which he did not tell them. Kept the best for himself. Typical Lance. Sky is equal sharing...I said it at the beginning of the year that Sky's biggest problem is not the peloton but themselves and the human ego. I predicted Implosion would happen. And it has. The drama is not over, the TDF is going to be very interesting. Richie Porte will NOT ride for Froome, the columbians do not fancy Froome and now feel they are champions as well. Wiggins is not good enough to hang, we have all known that and will not ride for Froome. Froome actually believes he does not need anyone and can win it on his own. A successful mafia gang requires a dictatorial leader to lead it. USPS had that, thats why we had 7yrs..7yrs! of ruling cycling. Sky ain't got it. One year and a collapse.

Actually, I could see Porte riding for Froome ... they are on pretty friendly terms and Froome outclimbs Porte considerably. Otherwise, yup, the TdF will be interesting. There might be an implosion, or it could just be less teamwork.

Either way, I cannot see Froome waiting up ...

Thank you. I seem to remember Tyler saying Lance would fly to Switzerland and come back stomping him, even though they were apparently on the same gear - test and EPO predominantly, and trained equally hard. Hence Tyler's guess that there was something else, something discrete and secretive.

I am glad that bit was kept in the book, even though it's really only mentioned in passing and is not corroborated nor has much research put into it.

It interesting you mention Switzerland....the place that just endorsed PatM??...the same place that covered up one of Lance's positives? Coincidence??

It is easy to look tough when you mentally know that you have doping edge on everyone. What about him dropping out of the tour of cali after crashing? Or even the tour that same year? Lance even packed it in when he knew he didn't have an edge anymore.

He just lost his cadence, thats all. Two weeks training on Tenerife and the cadence is right back.

I recall this has been discussed quite a bit before. Certainly if Lance had a UCI "get out of jail card" he could confidently go way beyond the 50% that limited the others.

Funny that cadence thing. As soon as you lose your aerobic capacity you lose cadence. Seems no point being skinny and not having power nor having an aerobic edge. So skinny and EPO maxed out makes sense, but skinny without EPO is obviously a disaster.

I had not considered that possibility - Lance visiting Switzerland to confirm his acceptance in the super-charged brigade via the greasing of palms.

I was more kinda thinking (hoping?) it was something more ground-breaking and focused via special chemistry. Although why he needed to go to Switzerland to get it, and how it lasted the duration of the Tour clearly doesn't fit with any drug duration I am aware of.

Although now that I think about it, maybe it was Tyler's small jab at the UCI?

Well, we know that Bruyneel got the full royal tour and inside on test procedures and weaknesses in the system. I would think that was ground breaking at the time and a decent advantage not only over the other teams but also his own team mates, depending on how much he and Johan shared with the team.
