the icing on the cake for me was when Wiggo called Lance "the great"

Walsh is definitely changing his Wiggo bedsheets tonight.

Wiggins isn't a Sky rider anymore.

but they still pay him what? 3mill gbp per annum?

If I have been a clean rider and fought honestly through some pretty bad years and events in the sport, I would NOT want those who have been a part of that misery at my big event! Wiggins said this was his show and he was the man in charge. JB, PM, DM were not just normal ticket buyers, but given VIP passes and privileges. Goes to show nothing at all has really changed in the risk/reward equation. Still better to dope, make a name, and live forever with benefits off those slightly soiled spoils.

Was there not a big fat sky logo on the skinsuit?

Wiggins fans are as bad as Monkeymouths

Checkout the tweets calling people jealous about Brit Cycling helping Wiggins but not Dowsett...

Someone asked where Cookson was, he was down stairs bagging small rectangles of paper into piles and then into his car.............

I went into the garage to oil my chain or something else equally important but did have BBC 5 live on. Sir Bradley is the greatest cyclist ever - its official from no less than (what other sport has a pundit who is prefixed with a "Doctor" ?) Hutch. Apparently this breaking of the hour record transcends anything in the history of mankind involving wheels. Certainly it is greater than the Tour, or anything that could be won at the Olympics and now, after he was won every single race there is out there to win, he has capped it all off by taking the most prestigious title going - the hour. Hutch told the salivating nation. We knew nothing before his wise words. And there was me thinking that the true stars of the sport could win various Tours and Classics, rather than a single dodgy, made to measure, need Mr "See-no-Evil" to bully my team-mate or I will have a a hissy fit, Tour. The commentator was lapping it up from Dr Hutch (yes, we sure need that puking-into-a-bucket-that-is-overflowing-with-vomit emoticon here).

At least Wiggo finishes by putting two fingers up to us all in the clinic with his choice of party guests. "I know you know I am doped to the gills but you know what - I am way smarter than Lance and nobody is ever going to lay a finger on me and whatever you keyboard wa*kers write in the clinic, just doesn't count."
oil my chain sounds like an idiom.

but brailsford and the marginal gains boffins, may well have developed a new chain lubricant with Freddy Viaenne.

i think there is only one "n" in Freddy Viaenne, but I gave him a bonus "n" for his contributions to massage oils, testo creams, testo patches, and peptides. it is not surprising that Freddy could work with Sir Dave to develop a new lubricant that could add a few watts at 500watts and be the equivalent of a 10% higher air pressure.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of catching the last few minutes of this on TV. I need a bucket. In a few short minutes I had to endure commentary from Mr 50% plus (please give me a gig) Hayles and Dame (I won't rock the boat no matter how badly I get treated by Shane) Storey. Trackside was Heiko (how many positives at Rusvelo?) Salwedel. I then had to watch Bradley stating that Indurain was his hero and then hugging him. Add to this the fact that Buyneel, Millar etc were there! Cycling sucks bum hole.
so we can add Big Mig to his herodom, cos we know Brad loves Lance. lots of heros. I am sure Cav is his hero too, OPaula Radcliffe is his hero too, and other British dopers are inducted into Brads hall of heroes.

Wouldn't be surprised if his main cycling hero was also there (masked in the motoman costume). Btw, why didn't Uniballer try The Hour as well? The fame factor was certainly there, he had plenty of time every year... but maybe on Eddy's bike it's not so sure shot.

Lance showed up at Dominguez Hills a couple of times, during retirement 1.0, but there was never much made of it publicly. I don't remember what the cover story was, but I can tell you it was obvious he hadn't done too many laps on a vel before.

Must have been really motivated back then. Amazing!

Yeah makes you kinda wonder, huh?

Pat McQuaid, David Millar and Johan Bruyneel all VIP guests to Wiggins hour ride.

Isn't nice that the sport has cleaned up its act..............
Were they guests of Wigans/UCI or as paying spectators? If it's the latter then you can't hold it against Wigans

Was this not Wigans event? Well he could have stipulated those involved with doping not attend. He could have stipulated that anyone on a doping ban not attend. He could have done plenty to prevent it, he has surrounded himself with yes people who now jump at every command. But Wiggins is very comfortable with these people. He is one of them.

so alex dowsett's coach thinks that brads bike was illegal ( non commercially available custom 3D printed bars )

although ok'd by UCI..............+ brad had unfair help from BC staff etc

valid complaints..............or sour grapes?

Technically invalid complaints I would guess, but valid in spirit. The favouritism shown to Wiggins by the UCI, BC and the media was something else.

Wiggins is a UK golden cycling goose at present. Everyone wanting to cash in on it.

Absolutely legitimate claims by Dowsett's team but this is pro cycling and big fishes always get the favour.....

I think Dowsett has very valid complaints, and I thought so when first reading about the bars. However, we know that complaint is going nowhere.

reading in PRR how brad failed to eclipse tony romingers previous best ( now illegal ) time as a point of debate

may i ask? which was the best performance/ who was the best prepared.......................................

rominger was not troubled by the passport / UCI regulations...........brad well? he's our hero..............

...........will similar bars become commercially available ( to the favoured few ) within 9 months?

Can you define the best performance by other than the final outcome/time?

You can always argue advantages -but at the end of the day you can not know those for certain?

Therefore the best time must stand?

By same logic I say let Wiggins time stand.. It is a testament of truth.. As any time is...

That truth is multifaceted though...
