I just checked the forecast for South Cave on Saturday.
Not ideal: mix of sun and clouds, high of 12C and winds
from west at 30kph. Because the return leg heads west
and is slightly longer than the out leg a light wind from
the east would be better and for me at least, 12C is a
bit on the cool side. Best of luck to Sir Brad.

Yes, 12C is a little cool for me, and I'm not coming from
Puerto de Pollença where todays forecast is 32C!

You are not alone, my friend, judging from the numbers at the
start, in the lay-bys, on the overpasses and at the finish of
Saturday's time trial.

Fantastic that Sir Brad could raise the profile of this branch of
our sport...something I'm sure he will also do for summer track
leagues by showing up at Herne Hill or perhaps Knowsley for an
event sometime in the next few months.

This figure has to come thru aerodynamic adjustments and not power

Surely one final marginal gain (for aerodynamic adjustments) would be to lose that beard.
(Chris Boardman was clean shaven when his Hour inspired WIggo way back when )

Cycling is a team sport. You take the strongest team you can incase your leader isn't feeling well or has a bad day. That's part of the sport.

I don't think anyone will disagree with that. 2012 is a bit different because it could be argued that Froome could have/should have won the tour that year and was held back by his team. I don't think anyone can realistically say that Porte, Thomas, etc could have won the tour this year

Wiggins beat Froome fair and square as he was the superior time trialist, plus his climbing was better than everyone except Froome.
