Wiggins is really not much of a cyclist pound for pound.

Well Landis tested positive for testosterone, so your original post that "we know what Landis had in 2006 that Wiggins doesnt have." may be true, for descents.

Seriously though, declaring riders clean because you are a fan belongs just as much in the clinic as accusing other riders of doping.

I just findi it amusing that theHog and Brodeal are using Lance and Landis to bash Wiggins, who has won more grand tours than the two of them put together

I agree with this. Its turned into a bit of a playground but without adult supervision.
Its perfectly ok to not like wiggins without claiming that he is malingering or calling him weak or even extensive mockery of his descending.

Edit: Agree with Hitch's post as well.

Certain posts are done judging Wiggins's ability as a rider through their own personal opinions and it's clouding their judgement as a result. To say Wiggins is weak is pathetic. A guy who won everything in sight last year and who also had the experience of toughing it out in the gruppetto is not weak. Far from it infact. We criticise riders like Andy for having a Tour only view to the calendar and yet we slam a rider who targets various different races outside of it. I admire Wiggins(not personally but in cycling terms) for targeting the Giro as the easier thing to do would be to focus on the Tour solely. Yet he spoke up for targeting a Tour-Giro double and no matter how deluded it was to some, his ambition should be admired, not scoffed at.

I think Vuelta is a good plan (not many rain clouds there), but a diesel for the worlds, he will be a support rider. Of course he has to go to the tour if healthy.

That's the best plan, plus I'd like round 2 Nibali vs. Wiggins again.

I would add. And speaking honestly; Wiggins never should have won a GT. it's put something in his head that he's worthy of GT winner status.

It's not good for him. Short one week stage race, yes. But not a GT.

Most were admitting the same last year when he won. Even Sky fans. Flat course, no Contador etc.

Expectations were way ahead of actual talet.

Wiggins is not a proper cyclist, in my opinion. Big engine, big lungs, big heart, but can't handle descents, rain, or sharp corners?
