Surely we know that Landis was on EPO, (as he has confessed to it then there is nothing wrong with mentioning that in the PRR)

Well Landis tested positive for testosterone, so your original post that "we know what Landis had in 2006 that Wiggins doesnt have." may be true, for descents.

Seriously though, declaring riders clean because you are a fan belongs just as much in the clinic as accusing other riders of doping.

I just findi it amusing that theHog and Brodeal are using Lance and Landis to bash Wiggins, who has won more grand tours than the two of them put together:D

I thought Wiggins was a **** long before it was cool, but the way this thread has turned in to a school trip for the clinic is nearly as pathetic as some of the straightforwardly mean-spirited, slow witted and hateful 'analysis' being posted.

Seconded. Some people should seriously consider going outdoors every once in a while.

I agree with this. Its turned into a bit of a playground but without adult supervision.
Its perfectly ok to not like wiggins without claiming that he is malingering or calling him weak or even extensive mockery of his descending.

Couldn't agree more.

Edit: Agree with Hitch's post as well.

Certain posts are done judging Wiggins's ability as a rider through their own personal opinions and it's clouding their judgement as a result. To say Wiggins is weak is pathetic. A guy who won everything in sight last year and who also had the experience of toughing it out in the gruppetto is not weak. Far from it infact. We criticise riders like Andy for having a Tour only view to the calendar and yet we slam a rider who targets various different races outside of it. I admire Wiggins(not personally but in cycling terms) for targeting the Giro as the easier thing to do would be to focus on the Tour solely. Yet he spoke up for targeting a Tour-Giro double and no matter how deluded it was to some, his ambition should be admired, not scoffed at.

This. Personally I like Wiggo but can see why people dont. The rubbish posted on this threat though is ridiculous to say the least.

Agreed, sounds like Sky's PR this Giro.

Best numbers ever.
Descended like a girl.
Got a cold.
Has a knee problem.

Wiggins is just an enigma.

Lets hope SKy@walsh has good news tomorrow.

Tweet tweet.

On for the double, Tour - Vuelta is still possible.

With this weather forecast:

Wiggins won't recover and would only seriously undermine the rest of his season if he did. Best to get out, get some warm weather training, do some reconn, do the Tour De Suisse, leaving Froome to do the Dauphine and keep his mouth shut and see what happens in France. Or forget about France and concentrate on Plan C - Vuelta and the Worlds.

I think Vuelta is a good plan (not many rain clouds there), but a diesel for the worlds, he will be a support rider. Of course he has to go to the tour if healthy.

Confidence will be shattered. I'd prefer to see him stay in the race and try and win a stage. That would be much better. Hiding away and doing warm weather training will only compound the problems. Too much thinking time.

That's the best plan, plus I'd like round 2 Nibali vs. Wiggins again.

The doctor should decide if it is advisable to race on or not, neither you or I know how ill he really is.

I would add. And speaking honestly; Wiggins never should have won a GT. it's put something in his head that he's worthy of GT winner status.

It's not good for him. Short one week stage race, yes. But not a GT.

Most were admitting the same last year when he won. Even Sky fans. Flat course, no Contador etc.

Expectations were way ahead of actual talet.

Shot of cortisone in each knee, some smelling salts and back on the bike.

That's how I was told to ride when I had a cold.

He rode PR for christ sakes. He's tougher than this.

Confidence and health will be shattered. The guy needs out of there. He also needs a stable week or so of warm weather training or more depending on what he wants to do next.
