I love these parodies, the one of Andy Carroll's transfer to Liverpool to replace Torres is still my favourite.

Andy Carroll. You have to be so incompetent to pay 35 million pounds for him.

Some very ropey reporting by the BBC. Sadly, more and more typical of their website these days.

Wiggo only said that he's probably done with GTs. No real difference from his earlier stated ambition of focussing on P-R and The Hour.

Latest is that Sky still want to work something out. Fairly sure it will happen

Yeh the BBC is a second rate news program nowadays. Still not as bad as David Walsh who's only interest in cycling is the cheating aspects to get scandal !!!

All the same it does sadden me that Wiggo goes back to the track. I feel like he is taking an easier route to success. Doesn't he have enough medals FFS !

Would much rather see wiggo get 3rd at P-R than win 3 gold at the olympics.

If I was Wiggins, . I don't think success in track is possible as athletes age they tend more to endurance, I can't recall anyone going backwards.
He could ride a successful season aiming at Roubaix and TTs and those stage races decided in the TT. For example if this year he rode Roubaix and any lead up races to get himself ready, Romandie, California, and Suisse and then which ever GT offers the best parcours, as in most years I'd have gone with the Tour, then build to world TT. My expectation would be win California and at least podium Romandie and Suisse and top 5 Tour, and I think a team could see him doing that and aim his salary and schedule at that level. To get the most out of him he needs a full train, which if he isn't going to win he doesn't deserve, but almost as good would be one super domestique who will climb a steady rate with Wiggins in his wheel keeping Wiggins as close as possible. From this years Tour I'd go with Ten Dam, he's climbed well and mostly set his own pace anyway, clearly not able to accelerate with the others, these riders are few and far between and would need to give up some of their own aspirations, but maybe Wiggins could offer something in return.
If I were Wiggins, I'd find a buddy(super domestique), and offer to go somewhere as a combination for around 2 million euros for the two. I think the top 4 tour teams are out, but anyone else should be a possibility especially if they aren't particularly nationalistic, and provided they have the space and money.
I think the team would be easy, finding a buddy for Wiggins...hard, really hard.

That's a very smart move. Wiggins is the one, who wasn't suffering from "SKY ilness" this season. TT specialist also considered as a GT rider. Sir Wiggo likes cobbles... for sure. ;)

Sorry, actually, Froomey just called me and stop me to sign Wiggo, he and his wife against his carrier development in cycling :-(. #messSKY

Tinkoff is Sky's biggest troll :D

LOL

Yup I think you are probably right there :D

Maybe it's because Sky is the only one of the big teams that will probably not join his crusade against the ASO ?

Anyway. Keeping trolling Oleg . . .. .

Tinkoff must have had too many Smirnoff Vodka 's !

The clue was in the transfer being announced at midnight CET by Oleg Tinkov, through twitter, using a nickname and making a joke about Igantiev in the process.

Many a true word said in jest, and I bet he's a man who makes things happen?

Be good for Bradley to get out of the Team Sky garden leave situation, sounds interesting.

Wigans was decent at PR this year but why is he so overhyped as a "classics" rider? He can compete in PR lets not call him anything but a 2 trick pony (he is a top 5 TT/prologue).

Also does anybody really think he stands a decent chance against the field? Wouldn't he need like a tier 1 classics rider on his team so teams dont chase him?
