So - does anyone here actually, truly believe, that Bertie is not doping? Not I don't know or any other mamby pamby wishy washy non-opinion (I've been waiting a while to bring out the mamby pamby), but truly believes Bertie is not doin' the dope.

I mean, it should not make a difference to whether you like his riding or not.

It's possible that whatever clean or quasi-clean approaches which have driven the successes of the likes of Quintana, Rodriguez, Wiggins, Froome and Nibali have now been discovered by Contador.

So is Sky's link with De Jongh not suspicious then?

Didn't you know, Flo? This is the Dirty Berti thread, not Sky ;-)

Contador is cleans :) after all, cycling is clean now.

Go Bertie

Indeed...

Martin, To be fair to Flo, if it is De Jongh that makes you suspicious then the same applies to his involvement at Sky.

Have you followed my other posts in other threads recently? Search my posts for de Jongh references. See what you think.

Flo loves spouting when Dirti Berti is mentioned in other threads that "this isn't the Alberto" thread.

Well guess what. This IS the Alberto thread, his doping is on topic, and a pathetic fangirl like Flo can just suck it up.

I don't pick dopers to prefer. Flo does, and it renders her a clown.

If anyone is the pathetic fangirl here its you. Youre the one spending all your time defending unicorns, but only the unicorns of your favourite country.

so kindly, **** off back to the sky thread.

I suggest you search for "De Jongh" in other recent posts by me.

I'm not a fangirl. I don't pick favourite dopers.

This is what I like to think in a perfect world. Sorry though Sniper, I know you're looking for people who 'believe' he is clean, I can't be any more categoric than acknowledging it as a possibility. . .

I gave up on clean in 1998, who knows who is at it or who is riding clean, I don't believe we'll ever get any truth until there is a mauritorium of some sort and the past is put to bed forever with anyone caught after a specific date in time banned for life.

The longer we go over the history of individuals and teams the more instances of cheating we'll find linked to any rider, trainer, or soigneur over the last 50 years.

Is Bertie clean? I hope so, does it stop him being my favourite rider?? not a chance! Was Pantani clean?? not a chance; did it stop me being mesmerised by his every pedal stroke?? No way.

You have a serious choice to make folks; watch cycling with all it's flaws or don't, that simple. If you can't watch it without the doping issues then your interest in the sport is more an interest in your post rate in the clinic ;)

Vamos Alberto!!

Riis takes a leaf out of Sky's PR book

“I’ve heard some things about us that concern me. Some journalists will say anything. I can say that we have worked very hard together with the 25 riders of CSC in ten day training camps. Nobody worked like we did. We may have done the same number of kilometres as other teams, but ours were good kilometres!”

Sky need to work even harder this year and they'll need bigger marginal gains..:D

Martin, I was not saying you where a fan girl (or boy), I think the De Jongh thing could actually be just helping Contador to be more focussed in training than last year.

I think you'll find in the Sky thread that MV has been quite vocal about SdJ. The man seems to have some excellent performances that 'follow' him!

Erm, with all due respect, I am pretty certain Conti had no problem focusing last year. None.

EDIT - unless by focus you mean dope?

I'm not saying I'm a fan girl either. I'm making a comparison between my posts, and other posts which are somewhat less...neutral in picking dopers to adore.

But some dopers are just more adorable than others :p

You guys do know that it is possible to improve your training regime, and get improvements, not just your doping regime right? :p

Sorry this is a Luddite post if ever I saw one. Advances can always be made without doping to performance. Innovation in training and nutrition is always going on, not to mention the bikes themselves. Performance should always creep forward. I say creep not leap, and I realise performance advances are difficult to quantify given the fact we have a legacy of doping, but riders can improve over a career without drugs.

Please don't see this as Brailsford-esque statement excusing performance, more an a knowledgement that advances are always being sort and achieved legally as well as illegally. Saying a rider cannot improve without doping is a dangerous and reactionary baseline.

Isn't that exactly what Vino attacks everyone said?
