2013-Sep-12 update:
Duarte: out
Chalapud: out
Pantano: out
Duque: out
Cano: out
Serpa: out
Arredondo: out
Uran,Quintana,Henao,Betancur,Atapuma in.
4 out of the following 5 still left:
Anacona, Acevedo, Infantino, Rubiano, Sarmiento

That's right, Cayenato Sarmiento got on the list somehow.
I had hoped for Arredondo and Duque and felt Sarmiento should have been on the list...so now I would put:
Helpers: Atapuma,Anacona,Acevedo,Sarmiento and Rubiano over Infantino.

I believe Infantino will be in the ITT, btw.

Under-23 preselection:
Henao, Jaramillo,Chamorro, Ramirez, Parra.

the fact infantino is still on thet list probably means he wants to go.

I thought the flat TT course would sui Durbridge more than Porte. Can't see Porte or Evans doing very well in the RR either.

Not a bad team for Australia. I think Evans has a chance. The course should suit him and his ride at Quebec was quite good. I think the race is pretty open. Strange one in the TT. You would think Durbridge would be selected for sure unless he is ill or something. The TT should be a four way battle between Martin, Cancellara, Wiggo and Phinney.

Two more to cut.
I'd go Nibbles, Scarponi, Santaromita, Pozzato, Vanotti, Paolini, Caruso, Ponzi, Nocentini.

Ulissi must be very certain and also very obvious, its his big goal of the year and he seems to have timed his form perfect. Since Vanotti seems to get a free pass due to Nibali, propably Caruso will have to miss out. And also Visconti should get in the team instead if he shows good form in Britain.

No Jürgen Roelandts? A bit strange?

Why? He doesn't appear to be in form.

His form seems fine. 4th in Plouay and right there at the pointy end in the two Canadian classics.

He made the selection in Montreal last year. This year he did not.

Very small margins. I guess this is the price that Belgium pay for only qualifying seven riders but I still think he warrants selection.

70 riders came in at +0:00. Not hard enough to judge anyone in my opinion, especially leadership. Better to include a pure helper like Van Summeren.

Roelants would be a pure helper too. Not that I care much, he was never going to win and I prefer to see him go for Paris-Tours and Piemonte (this one is over right? :( )
