I wonder what Trump and Putin talked about in their phone call.
Jet fighters and helicopters bombing east Aleppo hit a children’s hospital on Wednesday morning, destroying sections of the building as medics and patients sheltered in the basement.
The assault, which continued into the morning, is widely believed to mark the start of a push by President Bashar al-Assad and his backers, including Russia and Iran, to crush the opposition in their last urban stronghold.

Yes I have, just want to remind you about the 'other' humanitarian crisis, the one in Syria, with 'front line' russian pilots doing the 'hard work' of bombing civilians with cluster bombs..along with helo pilots, dropping 40 gal barrels out of the door packed with explosives, on their civilians. You seem to want to just critisize the US(shocking)..yes, both sides are mired in messes..but russia/putin/al-assad/rouhani have been killing hundreds of thousands. wonder how your boy trump will get involved..turn a blind eye? A deal with the devil to help russia/iran/syria defeat isil? While allowing al-assad to continue to kill his people?

...if ever becoming a fact, the following would be another of erdogans hard to understand 180s

Erdogan floats plan to join Shanghai Pact after failed EU negotiations
http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/erdogan-floats-plan-join-shanghai-five-pact-after-failed-eu-negotiations-40101456

most folks in the west probably don't know nor care what is the shanghai pact. well, it's not quite a nato-type military organization, but per the idea of the founders (china and russia) the org was to strengthen the security of its members. turkey joining the china/russia lead pact would be nothing short of... if not a nato collapse then a complete re-alignment of the world's security lines.

of course, it could be just a a verbal troll to stick the eu for jerking turkey. for the record. i never believed that turkey is europe or fits europe. i seriously doubt any one will take the erdogan new barf seriously. neither china nor russia will take him anywhere unless he quits the nato. those trying to sit on 2 chairs usually find thir ardses on the floor.

Yup, lots of blame to go around but unlike you, I don't only point out anti US rhetoric or actions. Your boy will align with putin in syria, to defeat or disperse the 'rebels, while bombing the sh!te out of isis. I just hope donnie doesn't put US troops on the ground, at least not a large brigade or such. Let don-luv putin get mired in a ground war in the ME.

I don't support the 'Saudi Spring', altho you seem to 'support' al-assad and russia in their dealings in Syria.

BUT once again, canadian civilian, not hanging out with rebels who do disgusting things on video and also do not hang out with people who are clueless about the military and how it works. Not even canadians.

since you like to frequently slam my service to the US, in what capacity did you serve Canada..when and how, eh? Just to see if you have any basis for your ire towards my country and my service, compared to yours.

....file under. it, uhhh, got lost....and other crimes against reality....

Beginning in the 1960s, NUMEC received 25 tons of government-owned weapons-grade uranium to process into nuclear fuel for the US Navy and top-secret programs such as nuclear rockets and satellite fuel. NUMEC “lost” more HEU than any government contractor, leading to ongoing FBI, CIA and NSA investigations into whether the plant’s owners had collaborated with Israeli intelligence operatives and nuclear weapons development experts who frequented the plant. According to a Department of Energy report in 2001, the now-shuttered NUMEC now holds the dubious record of "losing" more weapons-grade uranium (PDF) than any other US processing facility. Although CIA officials such as former Tel Aviv Station Chief John Hadden publicly claimed NUMEC was “an Israeli operation from the start,” American presidents from LBJ to Obama successfully quashed all public requests for release of thousands of pages of NUMEC-related top-secret government documents. Official US treatment of NUMEC as a pollution issue, rather than a crime scene and challenge to governance, has punished direct victims sickened by the shoddy smuggling-front’s operations

Fidel Castro was a ruthless dictator who murdered and persecuted, just as all dictators do. He was extremely authoritarian and limited free speech, not allowing access to the rest of the world for the most part.

He also deposed a ruthless, corrupt dictator freeing Cuba from his oppression, with the initial aim (at least he claimed) of in a couple of years moving to democracy. Then of course Bay of Pigs happened, and he turned against the USA once and for all, almost causing a nuclear war. Democracy never happened.

He also gave free healthcare and free education comparable to the best of the Developed world in Scandinavia, with life expectancy and literacy rates far above what they should, looking at just GDP per capita. The healthcare was in many ways better than what was offered in the country which continually tried to kill Castro, an alleged 638 times. He did this all despite the hospitals not having key drugs, due to the US trade embargo.

He also was one of the few which supported the black South African's movement from early on, giving support to Nelson Mandela, who claimed to have been inspired by him. The West meanwhile, supported the Apartheid regime wholeheartedly for the most part. His policy of sending doctors to countries which were in need when there was a natural disaster or outbreak far exceeded most 'First World' efforts. This earned him many plaudits around the world where this support was very much appreciated.

However, he persecuted gays, and his country is still poor. All things considering (the trade embargo), it is doing very well compared to neighbouring countries, but botched central planning did hurt Cuba considerably.

Who knows where Cuba would be today had they not been affected by said trade embargo: maybe they would have even become a democracy by now. An examplary Socilaist one, perhaps. It will forever remain a mystery.

So RIP Fidel Castro: an charismatic, oppressive leader whose legacy will be confusing, inspiring or demonising, depending on what you look at and who you ask. History will judge him better than we can now.

Before Night Falls was a good book by the Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas. An autobiography about his life in Cuba. He left before he was killed like many of his intellectual and artistic friends although he was imprisoned for a time and decided to flee when he was released. He died of AIDS in the USA in the eighties.

not needed...it's clear, if one can make and suffer a 9-hour speech, they are doped on.... revolution. must be :)

in the other news...i just finished perusing my morning feeds and got visited by an irony. while vlad's real chess genius is likely to lose his 12th game to a norge today (i will talk to it in the right thread later), the real master continues marching victoriously at the political chess :surprised:

we already know that not only the vlad check-mate resulted in trump, right ?, but the pro-vlad gov'ts are sprouting in the eastern europe (bulgaria and moldova) and likely now in france too with the pro-vlad right candidate leading. wtf, wtf, wtf...the italian scene seems to go that way too. wtf, wtf, wtf :surprised:

and the last checkmate was delivered just hours ago. the freedom-loving rebels (which one source called al nusra, remember the guys from 9-11) are fleeing aleppo en masse. they are fleeing now after america walked out from the deal with vlad.

what is his next move ?

....big reason why the organ eaters fell....???.....

Syria Roundup: Jihadi Fronts Fall Apart - Egypt Enters The Fight

The Syrian army (SAA) and its allies made huge progress in east-Aleppo. There, as seemingly everywhere else, the Jihadi' fronts are breaking down. Disunity in the opposition, in reflection of disunity among their sponsors, disrupts all of their attempts for new initiatives. The largely hidden Russian air campaign behind the "rebel" frontlines diminished their material and personal reserves.

New help for the Syrian alliance will soon come in form of Egyptian forces....

The Egyptian powers that are, mostly in the armed forces, had kicked the Muslim Brotherhood out of the government. The MB had supported the Jihadists in Syria and Libya and were drifting themselves further into a more radical direction. The Egyptian army move had come after the Saudis had urged for such. They had offered huge amounts of economic help for a new government. The MB were seen as a danger to Riyadh. Then the Saudi priorities changed. The Wahhabis suddenly made up with the political Islam ideologues in the MB. Together with the Muslim Brotherhood ruled Turkey and MB supporter Qatar the new Saudi Arabian rulers reinforced a campaign to implement Islamist rule in Libya, Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

This changed the situation for Egypt. Turkey and Qatar became enemies as did their proxy forces in Libya. When the Saudis officially asked the Sisi government in Egypt to support the Muslim Brotherhood the end of the alliance was reached. The MB is THE enemy for Egypt, not ever to be allowed in power again anywhere. It also broke with the U.S. who had supported the MB everywhere. Instead friendly relations with Russia were renewed

Fidel dies at 90 - man in the middle of the US/Soviet madness. Condolensces to his family.
Well I can't say I wish him well on his journey. I have personal issues or feelings as in my family was affected by him.

He done what he considered best for his country. Which put him at odds with the USA. He was willing to work with either the USA or Russia at the time from what I understand. It was the USA that cornered him into a relationship with Russia. Or maybe I have that wrong. But we had this policy that still exist today ,,,,where Merickah wants to boss another country around and dictate what we see as merikahs best interest. When Castro started to nationalize corporations and seize corp money and property along with individuals that was the end of his relationship with the USA gov.

Not sure how I feel about Copperhead stating he will reverse the executive order to "normalize" relationships with Cuba. I thought or still believe it is a good idea to work with Cuba.

don doesn't know what to do because nobody has explained it to him, in small words. His 'statement' wasn't written by him.
