I think the idea for the worlds is that ac and Phil will also be in top shape, not just Evans

Ah, the Belgian spring races. When do these take place, again?

What? There have been 9 editions of the Gold Race with the Cauberg finish, that has resulted in a 'bunch' sprint twice, a sprint of a medium sized group twice, once it resulted in two guys who escaped before the Cauberg sprinting, once in a group of three guys who escaped before the Cauberg sprinting, and three times it ended in a succesfull solo. Getting away before the Cauberg has a succes rate of 55%, not 10...


I do think you're overestimating the course a little bit, I think it could be a bit easier than the Gold Race, but then again a WC is raced differently as well. That scenario you descride is certainly a possibility, that's the way Vinokourov, Schleck and Schumacher won the Amstel.

The only reason Vino won AGR was because Armstrong was getting revenge on Boogerd. He would never have stayed away otherwise. Cauberg has only been the finish since 2003, cyclists know the course well now, so it's a lot harder to get away before the Cauberg then 8 years ago.

Remember, I am a fangirl. I don't care about the other guys in the race, if Alberto's there I want him to win and if he doesn't I will be disappointed. Only one guy has to get back to Alberto (if he attacks and gets away) and it's a sure loss.

Didn't you see him attacking all over the place to get the green jersey? He (and other of course) made a two hour long breakaway attempt wich forced HTC to chase so hard that the average speed during those two hours was over 46 km/h! He came second in a sprint only beaten by Cav and at the same time he was climbing probably better than ever? I'd say he was easily in top shape.
