There was a brief bit of footage with 1-2 km go when you saw a tall Sky rider at the back of the main group. I assumed it was Siutsou getting back on the descent, but obviously it was someone else.

I thought Siutsou was the rider going out the back at the top of the climb ?

rai said it was a crash with 1,5 km to go or something
the three guys who crashed will receive the same time as battaglin
wiggo of course wasn't bothered so he let it go. will lose 17 sec most likely

where did he do the same this year?

Feels a lot like Stage 3 in the 2009 Tour de France, where Contador lost 41" to a peloton split...

WHAT??? He lost 17 sec?

Ok never mind me being an idiot. Nibali took his chance today :D

Then again you might be wondering, maybe wiggins wasn't so good today. Maybe something happened though, flat tire orso.

How am i flipping around when i always said he lost a chance here?

Is the above quote from you?:p

Good stage.

Bardiani CSF and Battaglin win:)

Di Luca fights hard for the win but ultimately falls short:)

Wiggins loses time for whatever reason:)

For a split second I thought Paolini was going to win another stage but Battaglin was very strong and did well to be there.

he wasn't involved in the crash
he was probably only slowed down a little bit

it's not sure yet if he will lose the 17 sec or no

jens - Brad tried to pull this in the first week of the Tour last year. Got away with it then, doesn't look like he will today.

Not even remotely close.
