Maybe like so many other things that were supposedly
"staged" during this Tour, this illegal feed was also staged
as a favour to SKY's energy bar partner and will soon be
featured in a TV ad. Marginal gains for the commercial
partners as well...just like the SKY/Movistar coalition to
benefit Pinarello. Money makes the Tour go round, and
SKY is the richest team because they give sponsors the
best value for each Euro invested so have little trouble
attracting sponsors/partners while some other teams
are in danger of folding.

wow, the imaginary world you life in must really suck

Alpe d'Huez memories

Alpe d'Huez is a climb to love; one of the most historical ascent of the Tour de France.
I attache / show my video about La Marmotte bicyclemarathon (174 km + 4900 m with Alpe d'Huez finish), when a cyclist can experience to cycle it in a cycing field and to experience the support of fans, people along the road. That was fantastic feeling :)
In the video: at 2nd min starts the climb and by the 6th min can seen the situation when fans shouted to me to support...

*moans about the use of the word "soccer"*

Just easier to use for the purposes of clarity in a crowd of mixed nationalities.

If it makes you feel any better, I love me some Football Manager 2013. Why can't the American sports get a nice deep management sim?

Oh, right, because EA.

I guess I'll just have to get by with FM and PCM then.

I always chuckle at the fact that it is the English themselves that started the word "soccer" as football is meant to be "association football" shortened to "soccer" , since football applies to many different sports ( rugby is actually Rugby football for example ).

Yeah, always makes me laugh too, the whole 'soccer' issue.

The only reason why people get offended by the word soccer, is that Americans tend to use it in place of football.

During the pre-Premier League years, an awful lot of British people used the term 'soccer'. You'll find a lot of fans who are perhaps 50+ will use 'soccer' without any issue.

It's only since the internet and the globalisation of sport and sport chat that people have starting becoming offended by it.

nobody gets offended by that, people feel offended because football is what it is, it describes what the sport is, soccer sounds ridiculous

The feed is what it is. The excuse and not manning up is a little more revealing of character. Not the type of champion I want even if swallow the "sky is clean" pill.
My guess is the decision to send Porte back was a tactical decision on the part of the team to avoid Froome getting penalized. Froome was just wondering how the rules were applied. He may not even have asked Porte to get food if he thought he would get a 20s penalty. Riders break rules in the tour on a daily basis, from minor infractions such as wearing non-regulation kit or urinating in public to serious penalties such as getting their bike fixed while in motion or slip-streaming team cars. Most of the time, the riders don't concern themselves with these infractions so much and pay a minor fine, my guess is this time, because the infraction was so blatant in front of the referee, the race jury decided a more severe penalty was in order.

Dutchies had a great time today :D

FWIW, I thought he didn't look at all like the guy that tore up Ax3 before the two climbers attacked. They were getting gaps before the attack, so they had a clue it would stick.

The way Sky did that climb was easily the strangest thing I've seen in a long time. The bottom was kooky, then the whole panic thing. Strange.

People seem to be assuming he was about to bonk. More like he just didn't want Contator to catch up. Quintana had a decent day, but It would take a (really strange) miracle for him to get anywhere near Froome. For sky, today was only about wrapping up the race.

Agree about Porte to a certain extent. Thought he might have one good stage left, but he looked as strong as anyone.

Worse thing about today?

Apparently some fans were booing Froome

Second worse thing?

The journo nearly to**ing himself to let Froome know, Classy work

Maybe the Millwall chant is a suitable riposte for some of the cycling bigots?

'No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes, we don't care'

perhaps they should've been booing contador for his underweight bike

his bike isn't underweight. They weight froome, riblon bike as well. All of them is exactly the weight.
