Oh, she passed away some time ago. I keep one trunk with her personal stuff.

I remember how Astana treated Landa in comparison to Aru. He has always had uphill :)
Giro d'Trentino winning was his only sucess last year and this year Sky won't give him a chance even in GdT because of Geraint.

I really would like to be wrong. I like the guy.

Sky did not hire him to be a domestique for Thomas. They hired him to be their second most important leader. But quite frankly, and I say this with some irritation as I also like the guy, he has done nothing much to deserve a role better than getting bottles since signing that big money contract. If he showed an ability to lead, Sky would much prefer to use him as a leader rather than as a Phil Deignan on ten times Deignan's wage.

Cannondale has a deep squad (I assume they all pretty much also will ride the Giro), but I noticed Dombro was bad again today. They have enough climbers to fill that spot out in Carthy and Rolland - Formolo for GC? - because it sure looks like its too late to get into form at this point.

"Second place is not good", but that third place is not bad for Tibopino. he got caught sleeping a little, and when he came back to the front, Formolo attacked. Sprint from last to third...not bad for dieselman.

I'm so happy for Scarponi: the old warrior got his day. But now, it's Thomas-Pinot-Landa IMO. Not the perfect course design for my chouchou, but he's in good shape.

I'll never cease to say it, but pro-racing in '17 is really entertaining...more, more, MORE!!!

Was a good stage. Happy for Scarponi who always had the ability to win sprints against other climbers. Not a bad ride by Dennis either.

Dennis and Thomas looks really anorexic.

Are they trying to turn Rohan into a GT rider too?

Exactly, Dennis has made it clear that he is trying to transform himself into a competitive GT rider within two or three seasons. Be interesting to see how Dumoulin goes in the Giro as well. His Vuelta ride in 2015 was full of merit.

Still talking about race names, GP Bob Jungels seems funny to me, since the guy was a junior like half a decade ago and he still isn't 25 years old.

If they wanted to honour a legend of their country they could have went with GP Charly Gaul or GP Frank Schleck or GP Baby Andy.
GP Baby Andy
that would be awesome

Landa? Hmm, I certainly hope so, but he seems to be a bit behind schedule. I heard he has been sick and didn't attend a camp. I don't think he will be the man to beat, but he should be better stage by stage and should be able to win a stage/be very helpful to Thomas one way or the other. That in itself would be good sense it would show progression.

And yes, 2017 has been amazing overall. Best season I can remember..

It's Landa's last year of contract, surprised he does not show anything.
When you go from finishing 3rd in the Giro due to dramatic mountain performances to being told you'll be domestiquing at the same race for Geraint freaking Thomas, that does tend to have an effect on your confidence.

True, but the track rider is able to climb with Quintana this year while Landa was like the fourth Froome's gregario in last year's Tour.

Lame.

I know he had some time off the bike earlier this season, but unless he is hiding his form, this can't be a good sign for his Giro aspirations.

That's true.Landa was a disaster for Sky.He'll still get the protected role in Giro but it doesn't look ready at all to be a contender :(
