This GT imo can't really 'prove' that Evenepoel can't be a good GC rider anyway because of his age and the circumstances. Even if he cracks completely somewhere I'm willing to give him at least one more shot before trying to make that conclusion.

Remember how strong he was on the short, steep climbs when he worked for Froome in that Vuelta? He was also 13th on the Angliru as a domestique that year.Yes Moscon climbing better than so many GC leaders ??????
It's a good result, but not great for Evenepoel. I don't think there's a way to bend this into him being the main favorite for the GC.
at least yates has a record in high mountains, he can catch up the little time he lost todayRemco and Yates the biggest disappointments of the day. But I'd say it's more worrysome for Yates to not be up there than for Evenepoel.
He rode at BMC and CCC for lots of years.De Marchi's English is surprisingly good for an Italian
Carthy has been 3th at the Vuelta. He has been very strong so far, so...he counts at least like those people. Yates loses 11 seconds in a dat with lot of rain.. he is for sure not out....that has no sense. Even almeida could be again on GC with a break...you never knows..But I think he is no so styrong in the moiuntains as other people. This Giro has better level than last oneYeah, no, I agree. Favourite clearly is Bernal now, Vlasov also looks good and Landa, And I wouldn't write off Yates yet, it was a somewhat strange day. Then maybe Evenepoel. That would be my take for now.
And how is that?

If per chance you happen to read this comment, I feel for you. I was hoping you'd pull it off and take the stage win; but nevertheless, that was one hell of a ride. Bravo.

Mikel Landa the best climber in the world the only rider that rides with ballz, Aupa Mikel! It is your giro.
Also probably the only time that you'll see Bettiol loosing one place on the gc while arriving in the same group as Remco and Yates on a MTF.I was so hoping he'd win! I might be slightly biased here, but I also just generally loves it when a domestique goes and naps a big win.
Everyone else in the GC: Moving up, or down, like crazy.
Vlasov: I like 7th. 7th is a good placing!

For sure that's probably why I can't help but support him more than anyone else. Never seen anyone make climning look so sexy the way he does except for Alberto.I must admit he looked like a vision of suppless when he made that attack, just beautiful on the bike.
He was going to focus on the mountains jersey ever since he took it kinda cozily in the tt IMHO!Not a great result from Cepeda
I guess its stage hunting in the final week for him
Last year's Giro is unlikely to see a repeat any time soon, though. Weirdest GT since Froome's Vuelta awakening.Important to remember, week 1 of Giro 2020 nobody was considering Hindley and TGH favourites. They weren't protagonists on Etna. Today is not a GC write off for those in Buchmann group.
yeah but you see now how bad some riders do in bad conditions, it is expected the rain will keep on coming so it says a lot imo.Important to remember, week 1 of Giro 2020 nobody was considering Hindley and TGH favourites.
