So Coe's lawyer who threatened Heppelt is now part of the IAAF investigation into Russian doping. Oh the circus just gets better and better.....

I've been in a dark hole...

What happened? What had Coe done now?
It's about the 'independent' commission who're supposed to check whether Russia is properly implementing Pound's recommendations. One of them is Coe's lawyer.

Froome 'independent' testing. **** Pound's 'independent' report. UCI 'independent' antidoping.
Now the 'independent commission' for Russia, totally compromised.

The word independent has officially become meaningless in the context of topsport.

Good Lord, get a patent on "independent"! :)

I wonder if the British Empire was independent?

Well some of it became independent in 4th July 1776 [1]
- but D1ck Pound is Canadian ...

lol.
shouldn't that anti-corruption unit be independent? so we get an independent review of an independent unit.
And all with the purpose of "to address the perception, public confidence, hit it head on. We don't have anything to hide at all.'' (http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2016/01/ap-source-review-coming-of-tennis-anti-corruption-group/57410/#.VqoXwFlJeM8). Jeez, they don't even hide that's it's only and exclusively about PR. What is the world coming to.

'It was quite shocking to hear it and my message to our bid team was: 'Just ignore that. We are London, we do it the British way. We have no brown envelopes — even if we did, we'd have nothing to stuff into them. Let's focus

Yes, we are British, we just stack the entire process with our own people, from Federation, to IAAF to WADA

So let me get this straight... as vice president of the governing body, he didn't feel compelled to have this investigated or even looked into?? No intention of any whistle-blowing at all??

Baron Coe doesn't know anything about the things he is now cleaning up. He is the best man for job of cleaning the things he doesn't know about.

IAAF president Lord Coe accused Nestle of hypocrisy after it ended its sponsorship

"We felt this was hypocritical."
Nestle will sink to almost any level but they draw the line at dealing with Coe

Desperate stuff from Coe, his days are numbered.
Not the way to attract new sponsors, by attacking old ones.
Pretty impossible job in these times, mind you.

............he has a point....

Mark L
iirc Phat was making a lot of similar points towards the final phase of his UCI carreer.
Trying to deflect from his own failings by drawing attention to corruption and cheating in other sports.
Sure, the point is valid, but it's also desperate.
Normally you take recourse to such rethorics only as a final measure when everything else has failed.
See Phat.

More details coming out

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/36541301

Doesn't look good for the Baron

Its most damming:

•WADA investigation concluded IAAF officials 'sabotaged' London 2012
•New evidence suggests Sebastian Coe knew of serious allegations of corruption FOUR MONTHS before they were first broadcast
•Coe was sent complaint concerning marathon runner Liliya Shobukhova
•Shobukhova asked to pay £360,000 to conceal her doping offences
Coe now stands accused of 'misleading' a Parliamentary Select Committee
•MP Damian Collins insists his position will be untenable unless he can provide 'robust explanation'
•A spokeswoman for Coe claims he did not open the emailed complaint

Sounds like WADA are throwing Coe under the bus... (insert bus emoji)

If Coe, IAAF and WADA were able to do this for the Russians, what sort of favors must they have done for the Brits and Americans?!?
