Honestly, I don't see this being a problem yet. He is 31. He became a GT contender 4/5 years ago, if he keeps himself in good shape by not putting too much weight on etc (I don't see this being a problem), and keeps targetting the Tour, I think he still has a good 3/4 Tours in him. And if ASO swerve this absurd "minimal TT stages" approach, then that will only play in his favour.
He is one of, if not the best climber in the world, and in top form is Top 5 TT'er in the world, it is a perfect combination, and when you throw in that he is great on flats, has proven himself to he a great descender, and has an unreal team behind him, he can be a big player for years to come.
