Teams & Riders Cian Uijtdebroeks - From the wetlands to the top of cycling

On his Instagram stories today, Matteo Jorgenson gently ribbed Cian for using a long sleeve base layer under a short sleeve team jersey.

Let's hope this does not rattle the youngster's delicate psyche.
He reposted it on his insta with some added banter.

I know it's difficult to imagine from the incredibly mature way Aldag and friends have reacted, but maybe he had some legitimate reasons :)

If my wish comes true Plugge will get team bus towed away at every race, get a flat tire or two and bullied Cian will get a puncture or 3 for his first 30 starts this season and his rear derailure will fall every time he gets in a breakaway and when he does a team time trial his crank arm comes loose.. or pedal (s) won't click in..other than that I wish him the best and hope everyone is affectionate to him from now on and can get a blanket and milk if times get hard..

So Bora, Cian, new agent, journalist and Visma were the parties involved.

Bora and Cian hence denying bullying accusations. Journalist said something in the lines of i got the info from "reliable sources". So maybe we will find out, some day, who this "reliable sources" were. And what was the motives behind it. For now we can only speculate.

That's really bad from this journalist or whoever pushed this fake news to get the transfer done.

Could be he was being used too. Hard to say.

He is just a young dude, he didn't come up with this scheme on his own, the real person swimming in the toilet is Plugge.

Maybe, but best to wait for further clues to emerge, currently we don't know. Due to more parties being involved this will likely leak in the future.

My roommate here was Cian Uijtdebroeks, but he went home yesterday. He told me, that Bora wanted to sign him until at least 2025 as soon as possible, but he didn’t want. He told them, that he will still leave them one day.

And that was the moment when he realized, that he wants to leave the Bora team immediately after the 2023 season because he was afraid, that the Bora people might be angry with him and they would not let him ride any GrandTour in this season because of that.

He told me, that he didn’t feel well in the Bora team, but he said that the WhatsApp group and these strange bullying rumors were not in the Bora and he doesn’t understand what journalists were talking about.

Now that we have been working for some time with him, nobody could have a bad word about him, because he is a quiet and polite person and what I can see that can change in 1-2 years is that he can be really ambitious.

And what I found interesting about him is that he can not sit for 10 minutes in one place. Even on what should be rest days, he goes to the gym or even for a ride twice a day, which can be counterproductive. It will be interesting to see, how the trainers will keep him back.

But generally, he is a different guy. As a 19-year-old young boy, he basically doesn’t have any other life except that cycling life. But maybe because of that some older guys at Bora told him something about that.

Could also be that he's not being totally candid now. Who knows.

This is the right take until some more compelling evidence one way or another surfaces. Leaping to conclusions about anyone or anything at this point seems ill-considered.

Well, there's the presumption of innocence with regards to Bora considering the proof of wrongdoing never materialized. Right?

People can't just throw around wild imaginings & speculative theories about bullying when there's absolutely nothing to back it up & the rider himself denies it.

Case closed.
