I know this thread is reserved for data for "pro" but I tought I contribute.

I have recently compete the Vuelta Costa Rica, one of the hardest stage race in South America and enjoyed some of my best form ever. I had already compete in the race years before and that time, I came in better shape after a big 8day block of volume trainning, something, I had never done in my life so far.

All my rides with SRM data are up on strava with the link in this blog article.

Stage 1 and 2, my SRM magnet was not picking up and stage 11 and 12, I was riding bikes without power meter (time trial and spare bike...)

During the race, I was in breakaway 7 stages out of 12 and got 4 podiums. Overall, none of the numbers are extraordinary, I got the results being smart and recovering well being able to repeat it most days.

Cheers.

Do you mind posting data (10 second, 1 minute, 5 minute, 20 minute, 1 hour power PBs) for those of us not on Strava?

What is your definition of 'clean'. I could take 800mg of caffeine and not test positive and put out 10% more watts than riding sans caffeine. I could get a TUE for ephedrine, modafinil, salbutamol and testosterone and slap on more wattage of my 'clean' levels.

Sorry, don't know how to 'quote' durianrider, I know that you are a well know Internet moron, but that is truly ignorant. Show me the evidence that 800mg of caffeine will provide a threshold power increase of 10%. Dimwit - a real question for you, how do you earn enough money to afford your 40 bananas a day? I'm genuinely intrigued.

H is a wackjob super nutter ...

Sure, I did'nt do originally as I only used a SRM for half a season road and track (2012) + that race in south america.

my weight: 71-74kg

5sec: 1382
10sec: 1261
30sec: 846
1min: 729
5min: 476
20min: 372
1h: 335
2h: 284
3h: 258
4h: 244

Numbers based on data collected over 432h of riding

Those are pretty good pursuiter 1min/5min numbers. Your avatar suggests that much. Is it possible that you never truly tested your 1 hr FTP? I expect it could be higher than 335W. If you use WKO+, what is your best 1hr Normalized Power? That may be a better indication of your true FTP.

everything is average power. I use Golden Cheetah to look at files, but can't seam to find best 1h NP...

The 335 was done in a technical crit so the NP should be more yes.

Not bad for a Canadian.

In a previous life, when guys like Nathan O'Neill, Ryder Hesjedal, Kirk O'Bee and Rory Sutherland were on the same team I was putting out the power numbers below and wondered how they were so strong. Now I know a bit better :(.

Weight was 69-70kg
5 sec: 1308 AP
30 sec: 998 AP
60 sec: 773 AP
8 min: 459 AP
19 min: 417 AP
37 min: 402 NP
183 min: 331 NP (this wasn't completely a maximal effort, it's just how long the race was)

Those were the best I ever did. Didn't have good endurance in terms of being able to repeat the efforts again and again like those Health Net guys were able to do. Plus I was dumb as a rock and wasn't on a great team.

As a general comment, golden cheetah is the far better source for the data than Strava.

The way strava's analysis works is *wildly* inaccurate. The short story is they don't do any kind of reality check on the track. It's a garbage-in garbage-out scenario and they aren't sorting the garbage coming in at all.

Terrible news about Chase. Just terrible.

OMG, how sad. :( I personally knew Chase and had some great conversations with him. RIP friend.

from reading his posts in this thread he seemed like a likable guy.

cycling would be in a much better place if more riders were like him. rip.

I couldn't agree more. What a great loss to our cycling community.
