I have to laugh thinking that only a bit over a week ago I was writing this:

Ofc we shouldn't jump to conclusions too early but let's just say, I fear this Vuelta will be the confirmation that he is not the next spanish super climber in the making.

Am I dreaming? Could Enric actually win this race?

He told Daniel Friebe he wanted to win. Still a tall order with just one Mtn stage left, but he’s a better pure climber than Bala in the high mountains (no disrespect intended towards a legend), and who knows about Yates. I think it would be difficult because Yates’ crack in the Giro was precipitated by Sky going nuts 90 km from finish.

It appears the future of Spanish cycling is starting to show he is ready to step up. That would be cool and some meaning as well if both Valverde and Mas end up on the final podium in Madrid. The past (guess still present with Valverde still there) generation of Spanish cycling and the future generation of Spanish cycling in Mas.

What an amazing ride today. Chapeau Enric. Definitely the bigger talent than Marc Soler who appears much more limited than Mas en the high mountains in GTs anyways. Amazing motor!

Spanish alliance towards Andorra?! I bet even LF would approve that. :D

Pretty crazy that Quick Step will have two super talents next year... for grand tours. Heck, they may actually win one this weekend. Vamos Enric!
