Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Rogla will apply long-range defence. He tried it in Emillia but next time it should be better.

At Emillia Remco was rather naive in believing all that teddy bears mean Pogi won't drop him as soon as his pull is over. As what Pogi really meant is you don't have to be afraid of Rogla, you really should be afraid of ...

Anyway, unless Rogla feels super confident indeed best to sabotage any chance of Sormano becoming the turning point of the race. Put UAE in position they won't pull hard and then soft pedal. Promptly deny any attempt to make the race harder, deliver payload to the ultimate climb and detonate. We'll see.

I mean Rogla finished third last year and is likely (building) peaking towards Il Lombardia ever since finishing Vuelta. Anything else then going after the win is hence in my opinion a wasted effort.

But i hear you, what you are trying to say, that is unless Rogla feels super confident that he can drop Pogi on Sormano he should instead adjust the tactics to get relatively fresh to that point of the race and preferably for a "larger" group to go over it together. Then for lets say Dani to set him up on the ultimate climb. For that i feel that letting one (semi) good UAE rider in the relatively weak breakaway early and controlling that through the race, by setting weaker pace, might work. Maybe somebody like Hirschi or Ayuso. As indeed fatiguing Pogi tends not to work, frustrating Pogi might work, though. We'll see.
That really sounds like a science fiction these days...
And I'm saying this as a Rogla fan.

All in for Il Lombardia. Teddy won't even know what hit him.

I mean look... I'm probably the biggest Rogla supremacist among mortals (I don't know what planet or universe CyclistAbi lives in)... but even I have to admit... it's not happening on Saturday. In fact at this rate of collapsed form since the Vuelta he's way closer to a DNS in Lombardia than he is winning it.

For the first time in his career I dont understand a thing about what is he doing lately.
Im worried that he might have some physical problem or something.

Red Bull are probably short on numbers for these races. He's totally checked out now. This has been true since his not-so-good ITT in the Worlds. It's Joeover for Rog this season.

I also think he's at that point in his career where he knows how to peak for one objective and then close shop. He'll be back... when he's ready.
