And because you choose to believe Contador's BS we should believe Schleck?

No..

He said he didn't take it willingly, therefore he was poisoned, which is the only other logical alternative ("poisoning" doesn't necessarily mean "someone spiked my drink!"). He said he has no idea how it happened. By contrast, Contador was sure it was the steak because of reasons.

You must remember that Alberto had more than a month to come up with an excuse. It was either the steak story, contaminated water or a contaminated supplement.

Since Alberto always drinks bottled water that couldn't be the cause, plus he didn't take any supplements on that day (IIRC) so it had to be the steak.

Give Fränk a month and he'll come up with an excuse as well.

The tests are done at random, unless your a stage winner? If they are, does this mean he was randomly poisoned?

Nope he was spiked by someone from the anti-doping agency! They hadn't caught anyone this race and Frank was the 1st person they saw.

Frank doesn't have anything to gain by taking this stuff, but no one else has a good reason to poison him.

It was probably something silly - the cook who was taking medication for edema ****ed in Frank's spaghetti because Frank out-climbed the cook's cousin when he was a junior and he's still bitter about it.

Or maybe he had some "diet" steak brought in from Luxembourg because Alberto told him French meat isn't tasty enough.

Chris Horner - “During this Tour de France, I probably took 30 Cokes and 30 bottles from guys on the side of the road that I don’t have any idea who they are. And I drank them anyways,” Horner said, sitting on the road after the mountaintop finish of stage 17

Chris....your not helping.

This is really getting hilarious now. I wonder who Schleck has hired to do the investigation for him....Andy? LOL

Well, that's Chris' stupidity. I thought that guys only used water from fans to cool down. You usually see them take the water and pour it over their heads.

Anyway, all the Schleck fans who used to bash AC can shut the hell up now.

No kidding.

Good think caffeine isn't on the restricted list any more. Otherwise AFLD to Horner: Can we quote you?

Stupid is as stupid does.

So Frank is pretty adament that someone poisoned him? Who is he, the Pope?

There's always a new excuse when a high ranking rider tested positive: contaminated beef, poisoning, conspiracy with the lab....

Sometimes I'm surprised I still follow cycling as much as I do.

More of Horner's quote

“You have no idea what is going into your system. I didn’t prepare the food. I wasn’t the guy who slaughtered the cow, who fed the cow. I wasn’t the guy who took it from the farmer after he slaughtered it. I wasn’t the guy who bought it. I wasn’t the guy who prepared it. I wasn’t the guy who even put in it on the table. I was only the guy who cut it with my knife and fork and put it in my mouth,” Horner said."

Is he foreshadowing something? Establishing an excuse for something?

Team player to the end. ;)

Based upon how they have all been racing without supporting one another, he is the only one left.

Then again, it was wonderful to hear Phil and Paul describe how it is such a miracle that someone at Horner's age can be so close to the dominant Froome-Wiggins pair.

And all the AC fans convinced of his innocence can support Schleck ... oh no wait, that was totally different.

Disclaimer: the following is a general statement and not specifically related to Fränk Schleck's case

I must say I agree with Horner. Since clentagate all professional cyclists (regardless of clean or doped) should be crazy paranoid. The fact is you cannot control to 100% what enters your body. You race at places like Argentina, Oman, Turkey, China ... who knows what substances you might accidentally ingest there. I suppose you can control what enters your body to 99.9%. The other 0.01% will later turn up as 1 pictogram (sp?) in your urin.

Ach, I missed this sub-heading on CN:

RadioShack-Nissan rider vows to find source

...

"I will therefore continue my search...

Please excuse the White Bronco chase throwback, but can't we have something original or less obvious?

Until then, I sure hope we can find the real dopers.

Lets see his national fed try and sweep this one away.

Jean Regenwetter (president of FSCL, Luxembourg Cycling Federation): "I don't think that Fränk is so naïve to be caught with a substance that does not enhance performance."

"With the financial, organisational and personal problems at Radioshack Nissan Trek, I can well imagine anything possible"

"We will now forward the case to ALAD, Luxembourg Anti Doping Agency. They are the specialists for such problems"

"In case Fränk Schleck has sinned, we will continue to support him. We were there when he celebrated his wins. We will still be there for him in less good times".

Carlo Rock (press agent at Leopard S.A.): "As a team, we have no interest in losing one of our best riders. I cannot imagine that these abnormal findings justify dropping him"

Frank took the diuretic because he needed to make weight the next day. He is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter between stages. Check out his pecs.....

No way is he going to make up any plausible excuse for this. Two years out, but he should be looking at a lifetime ban after Fuentes.

Him being one of Pat's darlings, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out. His National federation will most likely exonerate him, and UCI would not appeal. WADA might though.
