Is it normal that a team manger and rider sits in with the commissars, race organizers for this type of situation?

It shouldn't be as the other riders didn't have the benefit. It's why the crowd booed during the presentation.

The Commissaires Panel may judge the matter only if the offending party has had a
chance to defend his point of view or if, being present when summoned, he fails to
respond

I don't know if BMC or Trek sat with the commissars panel aswell but they like Sky were perfectly within there rights to do so.

How can UCI make any decision on todays result? What is going on Mr. Crookson I cant stand this British ****!!!

By all means call him a ****.

But mentioning his nationality just makes it racist.
No it doesn't. Since when is 'British' a race?

Sometimes words have meaning beyond the apparent.

UCI, Sky, two hands on one belly.
Pretty obvious.

froome's bike was broken, so why is he trying to run with it?
here's the footage of that:
https://twitter.com/Jonet_H/status/753699924278214656
weird. unless maybe he was hoping to get a spare wheel quickly, which didnt happen.
anybody see when/where he eventually dropped his bike?

he leaned/tossed his bike against a stopped moto about 10 seconds into the run portion of his race. I'm sure he was initially carrying the bike because the rules state you must cross the finish line with your bike, I guess he imagined he was going to run all the way there? Seems like a natural reaction to grab your bike in the heat of the moment. (I know you're trying to imply he had some motor or something to hide but this is pretty weak evidence.)
cheers, that's fair enough i guess.
still weird.
Reminiscing those days when riders just tossed their bikes away.

So you don't know if any other teams representatives were there.

You then speculate that they weren't even asked to attend, even though you don't know if they were in attendance or not.

And then you come to a conclusion as to why they weren't there, even though you don't know if they were there.

I love your enthusiasm, sniper, but sometimes it gets the better of you :D

Of course, if Froome hadn't been given back the yellow jersey, it would have been on the shoulders of another Brit.

We've got this sewn up. You guys might as well pack up and go home

Seems to me that you might as well go home if you don't have any points to make in this thread

He's great poster, makes better points than many here some satirical some good points
This is the BRITISH wave...and they will be shut down in the near future as the Americans was..Don`t worry have patience...the Brit`s can get away with anything for now..but that will change and that is the truth..

It's called talent, love, and there is a lot more of it coming through. So don't hold your breath on it coming to an end any time soon. When Froome hangs up his wheels after another two or three TDF wins Adam Yates will be ready to dominate

Had you even heard of Adam Yates until about a week ago?

How about his currently suspended doped brother?

It's all going to come crashing down sooner or later.

Well considering that this thread is about Froome - Both Yates are showing way too much talent - doped or otherwise to be Grand Tour contenders anyway. Apparently you need to be pack fodder for 99% of your career before you become a British tour winner...

Perhaps but it wasn't against any rules of the sport for Sky to be sitting with the race commissars after the stage which was my point

Both Yates' had been top 5/10 in week long stage races for the past 2 seasons so most people following the sport had heard of them yes

You do know that Simon took a world's title in the World Track Championship points race in 2013, don't you? Of course we've heard of him.

That was the same Championship in which Owain Doull came 5th in the scratch race, before becoming European team pursuit champion in Apeldoorn. Then gold in UCI World cup series first round. Then a whole load of other stuff before taking points jersey and podium spot in ToB last year.

You have heard of Owain Doull, haven't you? He's just signed for Sky.

Depends, were the summoned? Or did Brailsford barge his way in? Then it would be against the rules, yes. Knowing Brailsford, he would have pushed his way through.

My reading of the rules Brailsford has a right to be there if summoned or not "The Commissaires Panel may judge the matter only if the offending party has had a chance to defend his point of view"
If Trek and BMC decided not to attend then surely it's on them. I'm not defending Sky here but merely pointing out that all 3 teams had a right to defend themselves as per the rules so if any of the parties decided not to attend then they stuffed up.

For any motor enthusiasts, Froomes broken bike was recollected and inspected by UCI for a motor
i think that's exactly what Froome intended.
He ran with his bike until he got confirmation through his earpiece about where he should drop the bike, so that it would get into the safe hands of the UCI.

Speculation is speculation. I prefer knowledge.

What we know is that the race jury, representing UCI, met. Prudhomme was present and advocated the decision to which they came.

Re:

But these being UCI regulations they are vaguely written so open to far to much interpretation which gives everybody cover if something suspect was going on.

This is surely the wider point? We are speculating about what happened because there is no transparency. Maybe it was just media hyperbole for effect, but the 'men in a dark room' stuff does at least beg the question of who was involved and what did go on prior to the decision being made. I'm not going all 'grassy knoll' about it. It doesn't help anyone deal with accusations of 'undue influence', if it isn't clear how potentially controversial decisions are made.

The UCI inspected a lot of bikes so far but failed to find one single motor. So far they have only been found by Femke's competitors and journalists.

Yes, the bike will be sent back to Area 51, the place where Froomey will recharge as well by the end of July.
