King Of Molehill said:If Chris Horner joins as is rumored now I'd say Menchov has to be top three fav for next years tour.
Benedict XVI said:Methinks, GEOX is planning to gather a team of climbers and let them all roam in the TdF 2011 (to increase their chances for victory over AC / AS) - what Radioshack tried and failed to achieve this year.
python said:i'm still shaking my head in surprise at how much money geox poured into the project ?
reportedly (sports-express) menchov asked for 2.5 million. sastre must cost at least 1.5 mil and that’s apart from the rest ? geox must still expand a pretty penny to hire some solid climbers for the two leaders.

Ryaguas said:Well 1.5mill for Sastre is too much no? Not even Andy who is younger and with recent podiums and showing great level has that income... I think that Sastre is below that amount maybe 900.000 or max 1mill...
Oldman said:I'll have my Bend contact drive down the long road that Chris is parked on with his fifth wheeler...see if this is possible. It would be the good idea for redneck and the best possibility for him to shoot for a GT, if they have the room.
Francois the Postman said:I'm losing count of how many teams I can/will be rooting for next year. Either Menchov or Sastre would have been enough to elevate Footon/GEOX straight onto the list of the teams I enjoy seeing. Both of them together....
Ask me again when they reveal the new kit. Geox is still footwear, isn't it?
A big loss for Rabo I think, Gesink could have done with one more year at the Russian's side. But I am happier to see Menchov land here, with the team that is being assembled, than in Katucha. Good luck to him.

kurtinsc said:Actually... if Radioshack is around I think they'd still be Horner's best shot at a GT leader role.
He was probably going to be the leader (or co-leader with Brajkovic) at the Vuelta this year if the Shack had been invited. With automatic invites from the 3 GT's due to their pro-tour finish and looking at the RS team... it seems very likely he'll be the leader at least at one GT.

Now Pelucchi is new to the scene so let's picture him:

DAOTEC said:Geox CEO statement: Doping is a risk as all others ...
The company Geox, which is preparing to make its entry into cycling in 2011, is not afraid of doping.
Its CEO, Mario Moretti Polegato, explains: "There are always risks, even in the mere business. Just to know them is enough to tackle them so don't expect what happened to Deutsche Telekom, Saunier Duval or Gerolsteiner.
The shoe magnate is confident: "We will be very careful and do some random checks on the riders. We believe that the biological passport 'can' work if ...
And then achieving results at any price does not interest us." He even hopes that his team can be a role model: "We want to send an ethical message to young people:" Work pays of in the end if you play by the rules ".
