Stage 17:
Obvious breakaway stage, but I'm pretty sure that was the idea after a huge stage 16. San Lugano wasn't mentioned in the article. If it's not used, the stage will be longer, but flatter towards the end.
Stage 18:
This is using the detail given by the article, which mentions Pordoi-Valparola-Tre Cime. Thing is, the only logical way to use this three is stick Campologno on after Pordoi. Looks like an interesting profile, however, there is something puzzling; the distance. Such a stage would be 95km long. Bit too short. I'm also disappointed about the use of Valparola instead of Giau, but hey. I think this stage isn't exactly what we'll get on Tuesday, but hey, it's just to give an idea.
Stage 19:
no real information given. The article only claims Piancavallo, but it's unlikely they won't climb anything else. Either way, I think this stage will be soft-pedalled, given the difficulty of the preceding and following stages. Maybe an attack on the MTF, but nothing else. A bit disappointing but, hey, we sort of knew that from the start.
Stage 20:
what we already knew.
Stage 21:
A time trial ( :surprised:
), hopefully at least 30km long.
Also, the Blockhaus stage could end at Passo Lanciano, though they don't really seem sure. Stage 6 should start in Reggio Calabria, which isn't that surprising, whilst stage 11 is set to start in Ponte a Erna.
. Such a long transfer after the ITT?
Oh, and the Giro is set to pass through about 15 of the 20 regions, possibly 16 (if the race ends in Roma). In 2011 they did better
