Basso has a good engine although he might have lots of troubles on the descent of Giau. I can see it already: Schleck and Basso attacking on the descent.

To me, they are the 2 greatest x marks of the Giro. If they aren't on form, the race may be truely different.

I not only do not think "Basso will win the Giro", I do not even think that "Basso is the rider most likely to win the Giro".

Interesting that a third of voters answered "yes" to the question. I suggest that they get a bet on quick. If you really think it more likely than not that Basso will win the Giro and you are offered odds of 4/1 against that occurring, you'd be mad not to bet your entire fortune. It's like a casino having a 'happy hour' when a roulette bet on red/black pays out four times the stake!!
