Agents of Juan Ayuso and Carlos Rodriguez should sit down for possible team swap of their wards. Ayuso fits to Ineos racing style while Rodriguez could be a level-headed UAE domestique and assistant leader. If Ayuso would go to Lidl Trek, there's Skjelmose who is primed as their main man and Hector Alvarez soon to be promoted to WT races.

Let's be honest.
Those who still defend Ayuso = Pogacar haters.
Now,it's clear to everyone.
Why do people keep insisting this has something to do with Pogacar? The universe doesn't revolve around him you know..
I'm not a particular fan of Pogacar. Yet I certainly dislike Ayuso for his lack of team spirit.
I can also accept there are people defending Ayuso, claiming the onus for a large part is on UAE leadership. That doesn't mean that those people hate Pogacar though.

The same could be said from Ayuso's point of view towards Team UAE.
Ayuso signed a deal until 2022 on a loaded team. This one is on him. He has since then whined in the press while refusing to help other teammates at any point in his career outside of a few pulls on Galibier to set up Pogacar.

Pathetic. But agree, great transfer for cycling.

Yes, it means. Just do some research and you will find 2 or 3 users defending Ayuso. Then be aware when those people talk about Pogacar and you have your answer.

My respect for Ayuso. He has done the impossible: he beat the sheikhs at their own game. Since last year he wanted to leave, and they forbade him. Gianetti slapped a price tag of 100 million on him for any team that wanted to sign him—an absurd, unattainable figure, and one that probably goes against any labor law.

They tried to break him, even threatening not to take him to the Tour until 2028. They preferred to keep him imprisoned inside the team rather than face him as a rival outside. Meanwhile, Ayuso refused to give in: he kept winning races, even as they twisted his calendar at will. The clearest example came at the end of this season: he was preparing for the World Championships, and at the last minute they sent him to the Vuelta, unprepared and disrespected.

But Ayuso would not be tamed. He played them with their own weapons, and suddenly, what had been blocked for a year was solved in days. This wasn’t luck—it was resistance, intelligence, and character.

Because Ayuso wants his own path, his own glory. And today, with what he has achieved, it’s clear that he is not just fighting riders—he is fighting an entire system that tried to break him… and failed.

I just hope the next one to leave that team is Del Toro.

Ayusó RENEWED his contract with the UAE.

Making him a victim of Gianetti and the sheiks is absurd. It wasn't his first contract; he decided to extend it, knowing the team's situation.

And they've given him all the races he's wanted, except for leading Tour.

Nice piece. But you forgot that Ayuso was whining in the spanish press to ride the Vuelta as opposed to being ambushed and forced to the race as some sport of devillishj ploy by the sheiks. Lololol

I neither have the time nor the inclination to do such research.
I just find it bemusing that every die-hard fan of a rider always acts like the rest of the cycling community is out to get 'their guy'. It's certainly not exclusive to Pogacar though. You come across the same phenomenon in the Evenepoel and Vingegaard threads for example.

He's kinda right though. The only ones I have seen defending Ayuso lately is Red Rick who has a clear anti-Pog agenda

Amd other user anti-Pogacar who criticizes any nonsense about him and defends everything in this thread.
By reading both threads you realize.

I'm not keeping tabs on all that so you might very well be right.
It's just.. not everybody criticising a rider should immediately be labeled a hater.

I just thought about it a minute and realised that, you know, I'm just well f-ing fed up with the polarization of society in general. The world isn't black and white. Not every point of critique means someone hates the person they're critical of. Nor should you think that everything your favourite <insert hero> does is beyond reproach.

When it's systematic... hum...
But I agree with you.

Which values?!? 😅

I truly hope that he doesn’t start tomorrow and doesn’t ride with the UAE again. I’m not saying this out of hate, just think it’s the best for everyone (Ayuso, UAE, his current colleagues, his future team, the fans) to have a clean slate and leave all this statements and not sportsmanship behaviours behind. Another two weeks of scrutinising which breaks his goes, if and how many pulls his does for the etc cannot be good for everyone.

It would be the right move to get him out of the race, but they seem obsessed with this HTC win record, so they won't. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they tell him to try and get in the breakaway tomorrow.

I know I'll be tuning in, the organisers must be thrilled, race was about to turn into a boring walkover now this happens.
