Maybe they will reissue the press release after the Vuelta. Then they would still honour the original agreement.

However at this point I wouldn't actually be surprised if he ends up staying with the team. I'd definitely support a go fund me to make it happen, for entertainment purposes.

Ayuso has only got himself to blame for his hate because of his selfishness and has never gone out of his way to help his team.

UAE gave him leadership in the Giro and he didn't perform against Del Torro, it is not as though UAE has blocked his chances of winning a grand tour. Last year at the TdF, he literally did f--- all for the team or even his own high GC hopes. UAE are paying him good money too.

End of the day it is a team sport.

That UAE doesn't know what co-leader actually means?

As for the rest. Galibier last year with Almeida not being happy.... Sunday dropping that early. Sunday maybe he couldn't have been much help once Vingegaard went. And nobody really expected him to go that early, if he hadn't Ayuso wouldn't have really become a topic later on. But Vinge did go early, Ayuso was already in the back. By dropping that early, even if he didn't expect to be needed, he failed to show goodwill, or the intention of helping. He deserves criticism for that, sure.

Some of it goes a bit far. Failed at the Giro? He crashed on the sterrato stage. Knee problems, wound opened up again and had some more general knee problems. That's not really failing, that's bad luck. He continued till the wasp.. Now not in form... he's not the first guy who built up for the Giro, and then fails to rebuild for the Vuelta. Most famously Remco, but there's riders like that every year, Tiberi this year for example. Certainly not ideal behaviour by Ayuso, the early release of the communiqué seems wrong too... but as Almeida seems to say in every interview: It is what it is.

The way i read it it was agreed that the joint announcement will be made after Vuelta and that is the part of an agreement that was breached.

Gianetti spreading misinformation. Ayuso has said that before the race started they had agreed that the news would be announced after the race had finished. Regardless of whether the content details were known or not, he was told by UAE management that it would be published 30 minutes in advance, but he already knew that because some journalists were informed by UAE at lunch time and some of them contacted him.

whatever the rights and wrongs of Ayuso's behaviour UAE should not be sacking riders riding in the middle of a GT

How and why would you do that. If it had been agreed he was leaving anyway then why up the anti and sack him NOW

You have to say they were trying to make points , ie that they want rid of him at any cost and shift the 'blame ' onto him....Such poor management

As for Ayuso if he had not said anything about how they were trying to ruin his reputation he could have taken the high ground and people would infer they were indeed getting at him But now he has opened his mouth and put his foot in it

There is no doubt in my mind that Ayuso is a great talent but has been allowed to have too much hubris without the results to back it up.
Cycling is a team sport and no one wins alone

Finally he is only 22 and prob is under too much pressure even if some of it is of his own making. Hopefully he gets over this and moves on. If I were him i would dedicate myself to the team and Almeida from now on...just to show he can and as a 'up yours ' to UAE management

Ayuso was a perfect scapegoat and it suited UAE, sports media and fandom to blow that bubble out of proportion, now Ayuso penetrated it and it's over. It turned out 95% of the air in bubble had nothing to do with Ayuso in the first place. At best one could say he is a bit selfish and that is it, who isn't, the rest was you, now deal with it. Ayuso has better things to do, finishing this race and after to buy a new car and change wardrobe, suitable worries for a normal young man.
