Among the many media sites reporting on this in Spain, I have found one that says explicitly that UAE was demanding an amount of contract buyout money pretending to get negative answers, but Lidl-Trek has accepted the proposal.

No need to keep him in the race. It will make things worse, IMHO.

I don't understand why UAE took him to this race in the first place. Strange.
What is even more crazy is why the hell was Ayuso selected for the Vuelta? Or things went really bad during the Vuelta? That’s a very realistic scenario! Bring back Unchained! I want to see Almeida and Ayuso punching each other!

I don't think that's a normal behaviour from a team mate though.
Besides, he doesn't do himself a favours, so people hating on him is more and more justified.
I think this is completely normal behaviour at UAE. They only ride as a team for Pogacar, and in other cases everyone can do whatever they want. So I don't see why Ayuso can't but others can.

Reason is most pro teams care about winning. Neither they or the riders are as emotinal invested as some people here are if interests dont allign. Fact is they wanne win stages and noone else could help Almeida beat Vingegaard realistically as they have more than good enough team and down to Almeida to beat Vingegaard uphill if he wanne win, no rider not even Pogacar could drag him uphill. Ayuso won a stage im sure most teammates are happy as they get more money and UAE are happy as they care about winning? what seem to be the problem officer? Ppl expect teammates to reel in Vingegaard after he goes nuclear? Doesnt seem realistic at all does it? Same people who are angry Pogacar teammates didnt reel in MvdP in PR, thats a reality that sadly dont exist.

Novak best friend of Pog doesnt seem to have a issue like some here do, funny how it goes how emotionally some fans are.

Maybe he also did it to get out of contract.

Correct.

For example I can't un-see Majka having a go at McNulty in the Giro after Del Toro had already 'lost' on the way to Sestrières because he wasn't pulling and was protecting his own top 10.

Welcome to the jungle.

It also helped them get to +70 victories as a team, so that's something too. How many would they trade for a Giro victory though.

What about Soler and Vine yesterday, or McNulty at the Giro? This is just UAE being UAE
Oh I actually agree with you. I think Ayuso is singled out because 1. groups needs scaping goats to function. 2. Ayuso is a scape goat because he slanted Pog. That's how I read it. He didn't like to pull for Pog. That's the only thing that really really differ him from the others.

But I also believe he has probably tried to get out of contract. And I don't blame him for it either :)

People have been complained about Vine, Soler, McNulty, or Hirschi not wanting to really help others in the past and during races while they just focused on themselves though. Ayuso gets more “hate” since he’s a higher profile rider.

I don't think it's because he's a higher profile rider. I think Ayuso gets more "hate" because he did it last year to Pogacar.

I think this is partially right. Some of the same people also needed a scapegoat for Pogacar not winning Paris-Roubaix, even though it should be totally unrealistic to expect any cyclist in the history to reel in MvdP once he goes in PR. Yet somehow, the blame landed on his teammates by some. So you're partially or even fully right.

At the same time, it's equally true that Ayuso is a non-existent team player. Thats been proven more than once, hes overrated and selfish and have a long ratty face even though that part doesnt matter, still its there, point is he has alot to prove in the performance department to defend the position hes had in the best team.

Nah but its a very good riddance for UAE and about time, also W for Ayuso sadly for him hes gonne be up against a certain someone in the biggest races if that is indeed the goal somehow.

They get hate but also the behaviour just continued and continued and continued.

ratty face? What does that mean? If it's about looks I think he's very close to conventionally attracktive apart from skin problems. Tall broad shouldered, amazing smile, with dark expressive sparkling eyes. I can find a lot of less conventionally attractive men in this vuelta lol.

That's not really true.
Everyone sometimes works for someone else, Ayuso doesn't.
And yes, he doesn't work for Pogacar either, so it's more like everyone else does their job (occasionally), Ayuso doesn't, completely opposite to the statement you made.

And no, don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for Ayuso to be thrown on 100% domestique duties, I'm alright with giving him chances.. But sometimes he should ride for Almeida as well. Which he hasn't so far. Ayuso is the rotten apples here honestly.

That would partially explain the bad behavior from Ayuso. Do stupid things so that only Trek is in the negotiations. So the negotiation benefits Ayuso at the end of things. Very costly if you ask me.

Sure. It was merely a joke that he has a long face and not the point at all at the very least, just a bad joke. Not relevant or the point amigo.
Ah. There's a Chinese actor and singer who is also compared with a mouse and has a long face as well, so I had seen similar discussions about others and was curious :)
