just dropped from the group:
Leif Hoste (Omega-Pharma-Lotto)
Chavanel (QS)

Seems over for the bigger chase group. One of the 6 up front will be the winner of the race.

That 20 km was deducted as soon as the Belgian commentators were talking about the race being cut by 20km. Current distance shows the real race distance left.

i cant remember.. they may have taken the 20k off before we knew about it..

just went back through susans text feed but shes not been putting mileages on naughty girl.. :/

I think it said about 90k to go when I started watching at 1:30, so an hour later they've either done 22k (if they have removed the 20k from the screen) or 42k (if they haven't). So from that I'm guessing the 20k hasn't been removed?

Someone with better knowledge of cycling in these conditions may have a better idea than me

I'm assuming they didn't know about the 20k thing before i started watching!

rode 100kms in these conditions this morning. was kinda fun in an epic, masochistic way! easy to say once i'd finished...

anyhoo, back to racing. think it's down to the front 6 now. my heart wants stannard (in a purely hetero way) but the head says hushovdt.

has to be 42k done, 22 would be much too little.

Did anyone pick Hushovd for this? Didn't think he was in any shape, but it's looking good for him. He even brought himself a leadout man..

Very impressive having 2 brits in the selection at this stage.
Who's the Cervelo rider who went off the front?

Just to end that confusion, Sporza just confirmed the distance left minus the 20km is the same distance as the thing you see on your screen. Just over 40km.

Not very unexpected. This looks like the average British summer. :)

Yeah, you're not far off there.

2 Dutch, 2 Brits, 1 Norwegian. tells you something!
