Tour de France stage wins by age 25:
17 Pogacar
15 Cavendish
15 Merckx
13 Hinault

Merckx did 15 in 3 though. You don't happen to know how it's about GT stage wins until that age for thoses guys as well?

Btw. just to give another indication about Merckx dominance, because we talk about Pogacar so much.
If Pogacar wanted to meet Merckx record of winning successive GTs, he'd have to win the next 8 he enters. That would be enough though to get the GT win record.

Over the course of the last four Tours de France Tadej Pogačar gathered a total amount of 199 bonification seconds, equaling 3:19. Jonas Vingegaard took 111 boni's, equaling 1:51.

If we add the bonification seconds to their total time over the past four Tours de France, something remarkable happens. It's not Pogačar who emerges as the big winner, but Vingegaard. The difference, however, is astonishingly small.

Jonas Vingegaard covered the 13,667.1 kilometers 3 seconds faster than Pogačar. 3 seconds over such a distance! That's equivalent to 0.00000006379 km/h.

Cavendish finished 56th in the points competition of the 2024 TdF. In every previous Grand Tour he completed he never finished worse than 4th.

So much for GOAT: he is only 99.99975% as good as his rival. ;)

So now it makes sense. I was struggling to comprehend Pogi's 85-second lead based on memory on how things were played out. Lazily and stupidly I never thought about boni.

Is this the first time a husband & wife have competed at the same Olympic event?

I would think there are a lot of examples if you count too separate events as "the same event" like the case was with Bjerg and Norsgaard.

I don't think there are any mixed-gender events at the Olympics, so that makes it a bit hard for a husband and wife to compete in the same event.

(Obviously only counting cycling here.)

I don't think the question was limited to cycling (even though the thread title would suggest that).

And it's exactly because this is the Mental or Random Cycling Statistics thread I figured it was only about cycling.
You can always make a Mental or Random Other Sports Statistics thread down in the cafe.

All this notwithstanding, I took the question to be more broadly asked.

Thats a super mental stat actually. That 2 riders are so evenly tied and way above everyone else.
