Oh no.... Lance is the least of this... So many have it soooo wrong...

Apparently that would include Lance himself as he is the only one writing letters and filing motions and hiring massive legal teams and PR firms.

For a guy who is "the least of this", it would appear he is the guy spending "the most on this" (excluding Uncle sam of course, in his epic waste of taxpayer funds).

Why are all of the real big fish sitting on their hands? No lazer-like focus? No burning desire to be the best? One would assume bigger fish would be even better-heeled and just as capable - or more capable - of mounting a similar of even more aggressive defense against all of these terrible lies, leaks, and slimy witch hunts...

Maybe the guys above LA are silently backing him. If the Feds can't convict LA how are they going to get somebody with harder to find evidence of helping. All of the GJ witness who have spoken to tv and newspapers never given names of anybody else. Hell even FL and TH will only say Lance, they claim to have seen others but they seem to not be able to rmember who these dopers were. It must be a side effect from doping, or they both got CRS ( can't remember sh*t )

You must not be following this case very well if you think "All of the GJ witness who have spoken to tv and newspapers never given names of anybody else."

Or is it that you have run out of arguments and you have to make stuff up?

So let me get this straight.

Armstrong, a self-admitted control freak who is protective of his reputation and public image, almost to the point of obsession, is being paid to take on an investigation that isn't even focussing on him?

If the investigation isn't about him, and the GJ witnesses aren't testifying about him, then the only person creating suspicion about Armstrong, is Armstrong himself.

All the while, Armstrong's reputation and credibility is the subject of debate from obscure sites like this to main stream broadcast media (CBS, WSJ, NYT), and he looks guilty of something.

I guess what they say is true: everyone has a price. I wonder what Armstrong's was.

Seems all that lawyer and PR money would be better spent just giving it to a worthy charity, say...

Michael Ball in CN:

With all the information that has come out recently from LA's former teammates, it's easy to forget that Novitsky's investigation began with Ball, and only turned to LA after Floyd confessed. I wonder if Novitsky has now dropped Ball completely or just put him on the back burner while he concentrates on LA. At one point last year he did have a warrant to search Ball's home or business, IIRC. If Ball is to be believed, nothing has come of this.
I wonder if all of this started with Joe Papp, which led to Rock Racing.

The Grand Jury Leaks have been about Lance.
Not management, not the faithful Lieutenants.
(Ok, maybe a leak or 2 about George...)

But for the most part - "According to a source close to the investigation" or "according to an unnamed source" - have been Leaks about Lance.

High profile celebrity Lance.
SportsIllustrated/WallStreetJournal/SundayTimes/60Minutes/LATimes/NYDailyNews/ETC.
According to an unnamed source, Lance blah blah blah.

But have you noticed?
Ever since Lance filed his motion.
Ever since the flag was raised on the leaks.
The leaks have dried up.
Parched.

That is why you employ a World Class Legal Team.
Stop the shenanigans
Nip the dirty tricks.
Enough is enough.

The next time we read or hear "according to a source close to the investigation" will be when the indictments are handed over.
That is the way it should be.
Not a first year law student way.
But the right way.

You're close enough that its not worth the fight.

Actually, it's not close at all. I simply did it to show how easily you can do a "Six Degrees of Separation" on any of the players in this sordid mess.

So you can go ahead and can the feigned exasperation.

And what was the leak IMMEDIATELY prior to the filing of the Armstrong motion? Not a trick question. Simply provide the most recent leak prior to the filing of the motion. The nature of the alleged leak, and its date.

How in the heck would I know?
It would take a couple FBIAgents a few weeks to find out probably.
That is what the motion is asking for.
Find the source.

But in the meantime, do not expect to read any "unnamed source" stories.
Except in the Clinic. Drumroll flush flush.

So, for all you know (as you state "How in the heck would I know?"), there hasn't been a "leak" in weeks, maybe months (if there actually even was one) and the fact that there hasn't been anything in the few days since Armstrong filed his motion means absolutely zilch.

Thanks.

Ok, time out for a moment.

Need to point out that I have become the #1 poster on this thread, the
Official "another interesting piece I found on Lance Armstrong" Thread!!
(see below the Top 10 posters and their # of posts).

Please allow me to say a few words...

First off I would like to thank Francois the Postman for starting the thread.
Thank you Francois the Postman:)

When I first joined the forum there were very few other members.
Probably less than 100?
Was here long before any of the others in the Top10 (or their sockpuppets)
Just a couple of moderators back then too.
Daniel and Susan. Maybe an other or 2 or 3....
I guess you could consider me the "Tom Bombadil" of the forum lol.

But that does not mean it was not been easy to climb to the Top of this thread.
The Official Lance Thread.
Some tough competition.
Worthy adversaries.

So I must thank them and say -
If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of haters:)
That, and D-Queued hasn't posted recently.

Anyway, Top Posters on this thread:

You sound like Lance Armstrong answering under oath a question at the SCA Tribunal Deposition.

The question was about the nature of the last leak to time line it not the source of that leak.

Your rapier recollection should have quickly pounced on the details.

Obfuscation is the name of the game now, according to the briefing notes from Fabiani & PS

Do not waste time or effort on trying to present new "facts" and no self-congratulatory pats on the back..... note for Polish.

sounds like Levi has already squealed like a pig :p

Otherwise why would he have not signed back on as well? Tensions between him and Lance ...... hmmmmm
Setting Armstrong aside for the moment, if Levi's testified, then he's most likely told all about Bruyneel, too - which would probably make it impossible for the two to work together.

Then it's impossible for Levi to ride with most teams because Hog isn't the only PED friendly DS. Unless the Hog decides to stay in the U.S. for a while, I don't see how he can get swept into any of the investigations.

Maybe it will be the case that Levi will become the next victim of the omerta? If it's true, Levi should retire and do a Floyd Landis. C'mon buddy! Landis Livingston, and Leipheimer. It even alliterates! New members to the Lying, Cheating, Doping club are always welcome.

I bet 60 minutes could get nice numbers revisiting doping in cycling for broadcast late June, 2012 with bitter, book-deal shopping, Levi being the next interviewee.

Garmin. That is the obvious next stop for Levi. JV will rehab his reputation and make him a contender.;) haha
But really, where else could he go?
