I think you meant to say "decides to stay OUT of the U.S. for a while", which is probably why he has chosen to set up shop in London, far away from Austin, Aspen, France, Spain, Italy...

Then it's impossible for Levi to ride with most teams because Hog isn't the only PED friendly DS. Unless the Hog decides to stay in the U.S. for a while, I don't see how he can get swept into any of the investigations.

Maybe it will be the case that Levi will become the next victim of the omerta? If it's true, Levi should retire and do a Floyd Landis. C'mon buddy! Landis Livingston, and Leipheimer. It even alliterates! New members to the Lying, Cheating, Doping club are always welcome.

I bet 60 minutes could get nice numbers revisiting doping in cycling for broadcast late June, 2012 with bitter, book-deal shopping, Levi being the next interviewee.

Bruyneel can be included in a RICO indictment as he was a director of Tailwind Sports and, with Armstrong, had management control of the USPS team.

Furthermore it has been reported that it was Bruyneel's company that owned the main tangible assets of the USPS team (vehicles, bikes, equipment, etc.)

The USPS funds were paid to the management companies that operated the team in Armstrong's heyday -- initially Disson Furst Partners, then Tailwind Sports. Late in the Postal years, Armstrong's management company, Capital Sports & Entertainment, co-owned the team with Tailwind, and there was an overlap in executive leadership between the two. Those companies, in turn, would have disbursed some funds to a company owned by team director Johan Bruyneel that held the team's tangible property like bikes and motor vehicles. (This structure is fairly standard for large professional cycling teams.)

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=6054645

According to Floyd Landis 50% of the Trek bikes were sold during the season to assist funding the doping program. Bikes were all well maintained so as to sell at the end of the season.

Some of these bikes were observed to be for sale in a Belgian bike shop.

Ok, time out for a moment.

Need to point out that I have become the #1 poster on this thread, the
Official "another interesting piece I found on Lance Armstrong" Thread!!
(see below the Top 10 posters and their # of posts).

Please allow me to say a few words...

First off I would like to thank Francois the Postman for starting the thread.
Thank you Francois the Postman:)

When I first joined the forum there were very few other members.
Probably less than 100?
Was here long before any of the others in the Top10 (or their sockpuppets)
Just a couple of moderators back then too.
Daniel and Susan. Maybe an other or 2 or 3....
I guess you could consider me the "Tom Bombadil" of the forum lol.

But that does not mean it was not been easy to climb to the Top of this thread.
The Official Lance Thread.
Some tough competition.
Worthy adversaries.

So I must thank them and say -
If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of haters:)
That, and D-Queued hasn't posted recently.

Anyway, Top Posters on this thread:

Maybe we could lock this thread now?

In before the close! :)

Actually, nice job Polish! lol lol
and you are nearing the 3000 post mark also.
I'm honored to have made the top 10, in good company. :)

Anyway, not much news as of late....it seems that Levi singing is old news as was bandied about a few months ago already.
Maybe Hog will be next in the headlines...but I guess Lance is busy racing locally...and grabbing the headlines.

good new for Polish, or not ...

Congrats, Polish.

It appears that your ship has come in. I found the Bike Nashbar catalog in my mailbox today (not sure how I got on their mailing list, but I digress..)

Anyway, they are having a huge closeout sale on Radioshack team clothing !!!!

Nike Radioshack Team Raintex Windvest, originally $124.99 now only $49.99

Nike Radioshack Team replica kit, originally $159.99 now only $59.99

Nike Radioshack Team Raceday jersey, orginially $150 now only $49.99

Of course, this does make one wonder if anyone in their right mind would want to be seen in that kit, but their loss is your gain..right?

A buddy and I started collecting jerseys of doper teams. We stopped when we realized we would need one of just about every team.

Disney won’t touch Armstrong?

It looks like the Disney Corporation isn’t buying the Armstrong mystique either. On an upcoming episode of the Disney Channel’s Original Cartoon Series, Phineas and Ferb, Greg LeMond, not Lance Armstrong has a cameo (in cartoon form) spurring on one of the characters in the fictitious Tour de Ferb and chanting U-S-A! Good to see Greg finally getting a little love and attention!

Karma's a biotch !!!

Man, I am so sick of the Lance on drugs subject. Lance is NOT on drugs!!!! His coaches have his performance down to a science book. Does Jan train as hard a Lance? Does Jan measure every ounce of food he puts into his mouth? Does Jan know exactly how many calories he will burn on any given stage? Well, if he does I haven't heard about it.
At one of the hospitals in Texas Lance went to, he still has the record for the highest V02 max ever recorded there. Just think about the fact that he even recovered from cancer( he was one of the worst cases the docs had seen). Have you ever seen someone who is suffering from cancer??? It is terrible, and if you haven't seen it(Someone with suffering from cancer), I don't think you can really imagine it.
Concerning Dr. Ferrari, did you read in Velonews what Lance said about Ferrari? Basically, Dr Ferrari has never actually been convicted of giving cyclists drugs. A rider employing him just said he(Dr. Ferrari) administered him(the cyclist) drugs as a cover up. Everything else about Dr Ferrari is untrue. And in America, with an unbaised justice system, Dr. Ferrari's trial would never have happened. There isn't sufficient evidence to convict him. In fact, there is no evidence. So Lance has decided to stick with Dr. Ferrari because Lance is a loyal person, and isn't scared by the stupid press spreading stupid "Drug abuse" stories about him.

Lance should have lowered his fee. The voice over could have been done from any one of his homes without nay problem. Greg will probably need a trip to LA or Orlando from his mid western hovel. I hope Greg can bring cycling to Family Guy and the Simpson's also. He is a shoe in for the Ugly American cartoon series. Thank god Greg took the cartoon gig because Disney would have had to ask Landis next and he would have wanted to do a Speed Racer take on his life.

Some news from the Tour. I heard Lance had flew over some Radioshack execs and other potential sponsors. The idea was they would build the team and buy new riders. Maybe some from the HTC fall-out. Anyway it ended up being Hog, Lance, Hamier sitting around the table staring at their food. I hear one sponsor left early.

There was talk of Lance trying to do a deal with HTC but nobody wanted to go near him - the comment from HTC was he was "toxic".

Hog out.

Toxic?

Just rode the Pan-Mass Challenge with Sen. John Kerry and Scott Brown.
Lots of photo-ops.
Lots of press.

See coverage?

http://www.boston.com/news/local/ma...kerry_scott_brown_ride_in_cancer_fund_raiser/

111 miles, not bad for a senator in his later 50s? or is he 60?

http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Maki...How-cyclists-raise-the-most-money-for-charity

So, why do you guys love cancer?

Lots of press, eh?

If you check the second piece that you linked that provides detail of the event, guess which retired 7 times Tour winners name does not get a mention?

Nor does that same person even show up on the PMC website.

Because cancer can turn you into the best athlete in the world!!! Lance got cancer and it made him stronger. That has never happened to anyone else in the history of mankind, but since it did that for him, if we just love it enough, it will become friendly to the rest of us!

Hog out.

I heard that RS will be gone before the Tour2010 and everyone will be busted in France.
I also heard that RS will be gone before season 2010 ends.
Then I heard there will be no Team RS in 2011 and that Lance won't ride the TdU2011 because his passport is confiscated and he can't leave the US.

Finally I heard that there will be no Team RS in 2012 - no contract renewel.
etc.

Trommeltusch

Remember when Lance appeared on Public Television's "Arthur"?

If I recall correctly, Lance and The Brain chase down Binky to teach him a lesson about bullying.

Great Episode.

Did you guys catch Cofidis manager Eric Boyer's words about Gallopin's move to RadioShack?
“The family element played a part, and that I can understand,” Boyer told L’Équipe. “But what I understand less is how you can still believe in Johan Bruyneel’s discourse. There is dream and there is reality. I hope that the dream isn’t going to turn into a nightmare…”

"how you can still believe in Johan Bruyneel’s discourse"
Though the question is clearly rethorical, I wonder how guys like DM or, say, PMcQ would answer it.

As I posted earlier, people were planning to confront him on the bike. Maybe he was there, but not seen due to his security goons.
Seriously, he apparently did ride and there are photos on line.
