Lance is acting like a show pony. Once he went out the back he had no intention of racing to the finish

Forget everything that you may know about the uniballer... cuz everything is lie except the bad things hahaha...

No seriously... Lance is letting down 1st all his fanboys... 2nd his team: he said that he was going to be a teammate but we have seen a behavior WAY different... maybe he is tired to be that "cancer survivor hero" for the ppl and he just want to ride this TdF like a cycloturist... I don't know... I'm not trying to excuse him cuz if I could I would be one of his prosecutors and I would try to take away from him all his victories... but I'm trying to have mercy with the guy...

Apart from Cav and Rogers, HTC had no-one in the bunch. Eisel was at 3 mins and everyone elso at 7 mins. They threw away the stage today by chasing too early and too hard and then having no-one to bring back the inevitable attacks on the final climb.

Vino and Contador's hug was no PR stunt, watch the way Vino holds onto his AC's shirt - their was genuine emotion there, chapeau to the two of them.

After yet another back of the pack roll in, why do so may people still believe LA is saving himself for a stage win rather than accepting he mentally retired from the race several days ago? Do you honestly think Astana would gift him a stage after the Shack stripped their team bare? After the way he dissed AC?

If he was to win a stage everyone would know the peloton had sat back and allowed it - and why would they do that? Astana and Saxo Bank will be riding hard for the next 4 stages at least, the pace will be relentless every time the road goes up. All LA can do now to get some credit back is act as a super domestique for Levi and Kloden - and not leave it all to Chris H. to do. It is sad to see him treating the last two weeks of the TdF as a Sunday club run . . .grow up man, show some pride!

We know LA isn't going to be one of the top three RSHers on the big climbing days. We also know he isn't bringing any bottles or food or rain vests or anything to help out the boys.

.

Gentleman's bet you are wrong. He looked good at the end of the Alps, coasted in with Basso, etc. and has used zero energy since as he's dogged it home lately.

The States, though I've lived in Italy for 15 years. I'm thus qualified to give my assesment on the way I think the news is reported (comes across, if you like) in the Anglo vs Latin cultures. And there are some incompatable issues of style, which are of course cultural, believe me.

If that is in some way offensive, then I really don't comprehend. No, I can't enlighten you. In this case, that is entirely up to you. Move to the Mediterranean learn to read and speak a Latin tongue, read the dailies attentively and asiduously for several years, then form your own opinion on the matter. I have given mine. Fair enough?

I'm very confused by the teamwork being displayed by Lance. Wouldn't it help Levi for him to be pacing him at the front and shielding him from the wind, especially when the pace got hot toward the end? Maybe he is saving himself to be one of mountain domestiques tomorrow....

There are other dudes who can do the flat land wind shield duty. In the mountains we'll see if LA can play uber domestique. Also, he's down over 25 minutes now and could go into a break in the mountain stages. (Whether he is too beat up from crashing to want to is another story).

I'm more interested to see what Sammy Sanchez, Menchov and Van Den Broeck do with the stage tomorrow. An HC climb (Port de Pailhères sections of 9.5%) right before the climb to the summit finish in Ax-3 (avg 8.2%, sections over 10%) ought to shake things up a bit.

Really? I dismissed his former opinion but at least he had the balls to state an opinion. Hard to respect someone who changes his mind with his underwear.

Ah, go to the clinic. Don't ruin our fun, he is one of the most interesting and probably the rider that animates the most

Has anyone else noticed that both of these comments would make WonderLance proud. Its exactly the same mindset that armstrong fans are accused of, and the forum what go into uproar if either of these members tried to post this on a (non clinic as well) armstrong thread.

Yes i know, Vino is a better character than armstrong and he didnt get the same quality dope as armstrong, and he was caught, but it is hypocricy nonetheless.

Well my main languages are French and Spanish so I don't need to learn a latin tongue... I don't agreed with the way that you see how the news are given in the latin cultures... I think that depends of which newspaper you read, Is true that there is a lot of newspapers who like the soap operas and the rumors but the most are serious...

I didn't like the way that you put the comparision... I read that like the Anglo cultures are serious but the Latin cultures just care about useless things... as if the Anglos were mature and the latins were childish... I don't know... I just don't like the way that you put the comparision... and I prefer to not to talk about this... I will let pass it...

Tomorrow will be fireworks!!!! I'm quite sure that AC will try to drop AS... and prolly he will succeed in his task... between SSanchez, Menchov and VdB is expect a really positive outcome from VdB.. he is riding pretty well, is strong, is confident with his form and is riding agressivly, he is going to be the first one to attack tomorrow...

I don't agree. For me there's three types of threads. Race threads, normal threads and clinic threads. Race threads are special IMHO, so I reported sportchick, twice.

What a stage, what a stage!

As to tomorrow -- both Dani Navarro and Jesus Hernandez (i'm still hoping he will show us how actually great he is as a climber) fell today.

I hope they're well.

Oh, and tomorrow is Navarro's birthday! Expect Dani giving a big, fat birthday present to .. Saxo guys tomorrow.

I'm a bit behind schedule but..

VINOOOOOOOOOOOO 4EVA

Great win by a guy who's always brilliant to watch and lovely to see him and Contador working and celebrating together - almost brings a tear to my eye.

@The Hitch, I'm definitely one of those you'd call guilty of hypocrisy when it comes to dopers; love seeing Vino's relentless attacks but can't stand Armstrong. However, I think it's more about how they come across and what they've contributed to the sport than the foreign bodies which might be found in their blood.

Also, don't want to be harsh, but the people who are criticising Vino now (and back in the spring when he won L-B-L) tend to be those posters who rarely contribute anything interesting or coherent to regular discussion. That speaks for itself really.

How did you conclude that the humanistic side to Latin culture, which I alluded to, was in some way a suggestion that Latin culture is "childish?"

No, excuse me, we really weren't comunicating (or, rather, you misunderstood my point). I assumed the hostility in your tone meant that you were not coming from a Latin culture. In any case I find it quite appealing the serious, yet, at the same time, empassioned critical approach one gets in the dailies (not Berlusconi's though!!!) I read in Italy (but also what I gather from Spanish and French journalism) as opposed the rather "matter of fact" style in my culture's reports. Read the commentary of a guy like Michele Serra and you can appreciate what refined humanistic culture and exquisite intelligence in how he critically assesses all the varied topics his editorials treat, for example.

Yes, just let it pass, for there was nothing in my remarks to offend your culture. To the contrary...

To be honest, I do not like that the winner of a stage is immidiately condemned concerning doping, even if the is Lance, doping needs to remain in the clinic. That's what it's there for, these stage topics are more enjoyable with doping related talk out of it
