Sky have a Zero Tolerance policy, obviously if Knaven doped he wouldn't be there still.

Brailsford is still there and he recruited dirty riders. Millar is still there and her business is in part due to her brothers cheating so the management are still prospering thanks to cheats. Zero tolerance is a joke.

Well, Thomas' fate is sealed if he does well in the classics now.

Thomas' fate was already sealed ;)

common sense and the history of cycling sealed Thomas' fate.

i think we can all reasonably agree that there is no reason to give anybody in the current peloton the benefit of the doubt.

Let's not forget he was a ''6'' on the UCI suspicion index ahead of Armstrong et al.
True but personally I would like to know how they calculated that score and how the scores have changed over time. Does more data on a rider make a dramatic change to the score?

If Armstrong was actually caught based on his 2009 (?) values then how comes he has such a low score?

Obviously spent a lot of time at altitude whilst at Barloworld, no one would ever dope on a team of Claudio Corti's.

I must admit Thomas is very low on my suspicion index, I rate that one higher as the UCI's. That is not really hard of course...

He and Stannard could become cobblestone cracks imho.

Tenerife is a smart choice. Did you guys check the weather in the rest of Europe? It's atrocious... Saxo is in Corsica and has no choice but to train inside.

When you train for Flanders or the other Belgian races it is handy when you do not have to acclimate to temparature differences. You even could be getting sick, oh no, not the ones who train at mount Teide :D

And all of the cobbles in Ternerife. Very similar to the sludge piles on the Belgian roads.

This might as well put all the Patterbergs, Kwaremonts and Koppenbergs to shame :D

Wow thats some section of cobbles. How long is it? 75 meters?

Probably less, but the building on the left is a church, so they can do interval training going around if they avoid Mass service times. There are some 200m of flat cobbles before.

It isn't very difficult to find similar sections in many historic towns and villages around the island, but cobbles' animals ain't going there for that. They'd tweet about it

Towards the sun

I got my plane ticket and should reach Tenerife saturday evening.
I have talked to Hotel Carel in Médano for accomodation.

Sunday morning I'll get a rental bike at
http://www.bikepointtenerife.com/home. A nice Belgian guy answered my call.

After 2 months of practically no cycling due to winter conditions here I'm looking forward to 10 days with lots of "easy" rides in the sun.

I was wondering about the altitude I should be able to reach in early March without having to use leg warmers and extra layers for the way down. 1500 m, maybe 2000 meters would be my guess. Enough for good workouts.

Any advice is welcome. In particular about nice places for dinner in Médano.

If I should bump into Michele I'll say HI from all of you :)

From the sounds of a few tweets it seems like there may be too much snow for skys classics team to do whatever it is that they are doing out in tenerife

Dr Ferrari can sort it out though. 100% guaranteed.

He's on to it. Icy-pops blood bags. Stefano is making cash on the side by selling frozen blood.

Sunny and 17C in London at the moment. Should have stayed here and done a few circuits around Richmond Park, can even practice the cobblestones on the inside of 'Cancellara Corner.'

Apparently marginal gains doesn't involving looking at the weather forecast.

Very true. Can get some sneaky alpine practice in too if you get the train to Box Hill;)
