Jelle Vanendert.

Come to think about it: Jelle should be in a lot of CQ teams.

assuming he can deliver, which is still speculation considering he has done so... once at a higher level?

It's cycling, it's always going to be speculation unless your name is Gilbert or Contador.

Robert Gesink for example would be a good pick as well, but at the same time it's still speculation because you don't know how he will return from his injury or if he will crash in a GT again.

I think Jelle has proven not to be a one hit wonder. He was good in AGR, FW, LBL, Tour, Eneco Tour and CSS. And now he'll get to ride for him self.

No way I pay 400 points for Vanendert. Uran and Gerrans on a good season only scored 700 and something. Vanendert is relatively unproven.

obv. I won't be buying Froome either.

unless jelle was doing giro or something no I don't think I'd go for him either. He was on my shortlist, but I am unsure of what he will really deliver. I don't expect anything groung breaking.

I have 33 riders at 7402. But I still don't think it's the team I'm going to end up with. I'm still waiting for teams to release their final rosters for 2012, then I'll see if there's some rider that'll catch my eye, and then go for it.

Just saying... He worked the entire season for Gilbert and now that he's free to ride for him self... If he has an injury free season he'll score big.

There's always Tom Boonen at 500 points, who has the guts to take him? :p

I retract all previous statements suggesting we shouldn't talk about potential picks. This is fun. And obviously, people are still going to be divided, meaning different picks/teams. It's difficult to figure out the equation of 'this year of breakout + more freedom next year = surefire points'. Look at Anton last year, it was very attractive to assume that in 2011 he'd get the same amount of points, plus finishing/winning the Vuelta, plus maybe something in the Giro. But look where that got people. What about LLS? Bad year, or (relatively) non-talent that got lucky for a couple of years? Ballan? Boonen? A younger breakthrough rider like Modolo or Viviani? Froome? Who the hell knows, in short.

I actually agree. At first I thought that we shouldn't discuss our picks, but first of all it gives us something to talk about in the offseason, second it's usually more expensive buys getting discussed (so no bargains revealed) and it's usually in a way that's related to "real life cycling" and not just this game, and last we might see people trying to mislead eachother, so you still have to make your own decisions in the end.

Yeah but someone already mentioned one of the zero pointer bargains. He's going to be in everyone's side now. :D

Which zero point rider has been mentioned? No don't answer that
I have not seen anyone saying that they are putting a rider in their team because they have 0 points.

I got 4 riders in mind with 0 points. Pretty sure I'll pick 2 of them, the other 2 might just be filler if needed.

i'm sure i'll pick Romain Sicard (for the reasons i've posted before), not 100% sure but maybe will pick John-Lee Augustyn and i'm also thinking about Kai Reus, though he is almost zero point rider with his "6"...
EDIT: maybe if Matthew Lloyd will find a team...

33 rides and 7494 points now. Not sure about 4 of the riders, might change those up, but I am pretty much set. Most expensive rider that I have is about 550 points and so far I just have 1 0 pointer

Sad to see both my 0-pointers mentioned. I had to go through quite some pages of CQ-ranking to find them (even though one of them was on my mind already).

I'm going back and forth between riders, but right now I have 29 riders at approx. 5900 points. Hopefully I can find the last four in the 300-500 area, so I won't have to change more...

I have a list of 7 0-pointers at the moment on my very longlist :D Still waiting for some team decisions before I start picking the team.

Sicard was never going to be a very obscure choice, since I'd bet he was a relatively popular pick last season. Of course, I'm going to extend his contract with my team. It's only fair, since he's been injured.

He is one of the few 500+ riders I'd consider adding at the moment. My first draft included 38 riders, yet I'm still not at the full 7500 points. So I might actually take the risk with Boonen instead of a few cheaper riders.. Not sure though.

I'm having problems with the Geox riders, I really want to know where they'll end up before I add them to any list.

I don't think I'm gonna go with any 0 pointers to be honest, sicard is the only one I'm considering. John l-a.. even if he has a better season, what is he gonna get.. 50 points? meh.

I feel like I almost have the perfect team. 30 riders around 6750 points... I don't think i'm going to change these riders tho, I like them. Who to get now tho... decisions.

hmmm.
I have 33 riders -- 7499 points.
spanning 14 nationalities. Only four of which are dutch
I think I like my list tho, I wont send it in yet, but this is the best I've come up with yet.
