Why should that be? I hear that repeatedly whenever the British NCs are aired and maybe they can do that since only 5 riders are left by mid-race. But every NC with strong teams are ridden as teams like every other race.
I know they often are, especially the French Road Race, but I don’t think they should be.

So the men’s TT starts around midnight Saturday in the US and 5AM Sunday in Europe? Is Ganna going favorite to win? I haven’t seen anyone mention Pog for the TT but he’s on the startlist. You never know with him..
You do realize the U.S. has 3 primary time zones (not including Alaska/Hawaii)? And so the timing of the World’s is excellent for West Coast viewers.

hmm. Ganna has been training only TT since the TDF. He is doing the hour in october. Says the new pinarello is super fast. I think a (tired?) Remco will have a tough time…
I guess looking at the profile I thought Ganna might be at enough of a disadvantage but a closer look shows that hill isn't much at all and only 1000 feet of climbing total. I don't know, you're probably right. Probably not enough climbing to push him out of the top spot.

yeah, the climbing shouldn't be an issue, but the course has something like fifty 90° corners. So it could suit more of a punchy guy.

Why do you think it's not good for Bissegger, @Logic-is-your-friend ? I actually thought he'd be the most explosive rider from the favourites.

what do I know?

I would put stage 10 Remco up against anyone.

question is whether he is still there.

and if ganna is prepping for the hour and Remco NOT at stage 10 level, well…

I wasn’t complaining, actually just trying to get the numbers straight. I never really get to watch races live anyway but I might catch the first hour before I fall asleep

Lawson Craddock to miss the world's because of delays in receiving his visa - It was approved 20 minutes after his proposed flight - An embarrassing effort by Australian authorities.

The Australian selectors can claim an additional spot for the Oceania Championship winner RR or ITT - They chose Josie Talbot RR champion which is a surprise, but they left behind Georgie Howe who has much more upside - She's a rowing convert who had her first serious race in the 2022 Aussie Nationals - Travelled independently to ride in Kermesses with some success, then joined a Belgium Club team and managed to finish 4th in the Baloise Ladies Tour - This is an opportunity missed by the selectors.

It's no surprise they picked an extra rider for the RR rather than the ITT.

It seems like Howe has signed a contrat with a WWT team, which could be Jumbo-Visma, seeing that they've announced they will have six new riders and because they've already had success with turning Amber Kraak from a rower into a cyclist.

Ironically, i think it's a bit too long for him to really contend, and the overall difficulty maybe a tad too hard.

Looks like rain from Wednesday. Probable showers for Wed-Friday at this stage. At least they get the TTs finished on dry roads. Had a feeling that the rain wouldn't hold off for the entire week as Wollongong has had a very wet year so far.

Plappers the first big name to start at 05:46 CEST. That's not that bad.
ah, so he's back on the start list. Good to see.

This is taking way too long though with all those breaks to wait for the riders to finish their 2nd lap

I know it's the way it always is, but these groups always frustrate me.
AvV starts 50 minutes before van Dijke in the womens.
