Now Demare gets away scott free and wins the green jersey. Nice plan ASO.
Do the French actually care about the boring Zabel jersey? I think that stage wins are a bigger deal.
They probably just wanted to penalize Sagan in a way that actually hurts him.

Arnaud Démare is now the big favorite for the green jersey.

This is all I needed it to see

Remember who was the guy who destroyed Haussler career?

Yep that's Sagan riding into Cav who's trying to stay upright after being pushed. And I don't remember Sagan destroying Haussler's career.
No, it's Cav's shoulder hitting Sagan's elbow. If you look at front wheels and their shadows, both bikes are now side by side and there's no space for Mark. Sagan's elbow in a natural position.

These two pictures represent what really happened the best.

In the first picture, you can clearly see Cav bumping into Sagan.
Sagans natural reaction to keep his balance is to stick out the elbow.
In the second picture you can see Cav already going down and HITTING Sagans elbow with his shoulder from behind!

I think that you have to be strongly biased against Sagan to not see this.

And keep in mind that this has happened in a second! In 60 kph.

There is a fu*king video, clearly showing what happened, but you still try to make up a story form two pictures?! Dafuq?!

Just watch.

I think Cavendish was following Démare's wheel, which he was already doing before Démare went past Sagan. Then Sagan moves right, so Cavendish has to stop pedaling, but Sagan went further right and pushed Cavendish off his bike.

Yes. People are making this way more complicated than it needs be. The only question is who had right of way: Cav - who was already on Demare's wheel, or Sagan who moved right to try and take Demare's wheel?

IMO Cav had every right to follow Demare through that gap. Sagan did not have the right to move across.

Lets just award Greipel the win tbh. I think everyone can get on board with that?
Greipel hit Bouhanni aswell
So the only sprinter to have had a completely clean day was Nacer.

Congrats on the moral victory around everyone else's dangerous sprinting. You are a beacon of safety, calmness and responsibility among a sea of immaturity and testosterone fuelled decisions, Nacer. Thank you.

You can't judge that from those pictures, because it's 2D. The helicopter view is more informative.

Sagan will have sense of guilt when he lines up tomorrow, maybe. Fines and penalties not nessicary.
so because he feels bad he shouldn't get a penalty?

A Points dock is fine with me, I just think he will care more about haw his peers feel about him, maybe.

Yes, but I think that it's more about actually hurting Sagan with the penalization and not about giving an advantage to another rider (ok, they already designed an anti Sagan route to make it close, but I don't think that that's the reason why the penalize him).

Actually it isn't as the most important part (CaV touching Sagan with his left shoulder) isn't visible due to the tree. I do however think that the relegation is warranted as he shouldn't have been closing the door when Cab was already alongside. The elbow was a consequence of the collision not the cause.

Matthews will take points on the mountainous days. He is my favorite.
