I really hope they throw all the riders outside the time limit out of the race. They forced the rules on Sagan so i don´t see a reason why they wouldn´t do so here.

It would be a nice precedent. These guys get an advantage outside the rules compared with the ones who battled hard to stay in the limit. Isn't there some caveat in the rules though that the organisers can use their discretion if there is a big group?

Yup, and invariably they do, to the point where the péloton feels that as long as they get enough of them there they don't have to try because the organizers won't dare remove them, as evidenced by the Formigal stage last year where the riders soft-pedalled all day at a laughably slow speed and some riders (I forget who, main culprit was an American iirc but not sure and don't want to blame the wrong rider) saying that we fans should be grateful the riders managed to organize something for themselves to make sure they weren't kicked out of the race.

Well this was the hardest stage, I think trying to get Demare across was a risk worth taking. Especially as the 3 riders suck so hard they wouldnt do anything else useful anyway

A shame for the green jersey contest but absolutely the right decision. He was lucky not to get sanctioned in the stage where Sagan was ejected and it would have left ASO open to major suggestions of favouritism if he wasn't kicked out.

The soft-pedalling peloton won 5 out the last 6 stages in the Vuelta, I believe.

Sagan DQ has it first positive. UCI have to follow their own rules now.

The Porte fall is a good opportunity for Porte to ride the Vuelta. Contactor and Froome have done the same after crashing out of the TDF.

Sorry to see Porte crashing out, prayers for a full recovery. Heinous crash. So sad for the race, he was doing so well. Sorry to see Thomas knocked out, praying for a quick recovery. Sorry to see Contador injureed due to Thomas crash. Sorry to see Dan Martin crash, wow big contender, awesome he came back! Love seeing an American,Uran, make a courageous ride, after a near knockout during the Porte crash. Super win from American, Uran! Great interview by Uran after race, wow, Mr. poise, and super articulate! Loved the Vaughters interview after race, with Roll and Christian, great win for an American team. FYI I know Uran is Colombian, but to me, S. and N. America are America. Iregardless, of Agent Orange's opinion!

It's official. The French champion, off the back from KM0, has failed to finish within the time cut. His FDJ teammates Delage, Guarnieri, and Konovalovas, who accompanied him over the climbs, are also out. A blg blow for the French team, whose race now depends on Pinot.

Stage win is probably enough for FDJ to call it a success, or at least meeting objective.

Bad decision to loseteam members, who could have supported Pinot.

Imagine hating someone who rides a bike you don't know so much you want them thrown out of a race. For that. I will have more contact with strangers getting in the lift in work tomorrow.
