Prize money for 3rd in the sprint classification is 10k, so actually not too bad, to be fair (compared to 4k for 4th). More or less the same as for a stage win, or 7th in GC.

In theory a race being hard and pace being high is great but this jump and catch play right now feels totally pointless. Barely anything left before the climbs and this situation just leads to Pogacar, Vingegaard and Remco (in that order) destroying everyone later with Pog grabbing another stage win.

EF car is either lying or stupid. Saying they expected the start of the race to be after intermediate sprint. If so it would be absolutely stupid to attack so much with Carapaz in the flatter parts early on…

Group is waaay to big to work together ofcourse, team needs to start riding there or first 4 have 2 mins when ht eclimbs start. Shouldn't really be a problem for some of the real climbers in there I guess

Picture at km 53 now is three Visma guys are in the breakaway and believe that not for stage win...Most likely Vingegard will try something..

All GC guys dropped from the peloton. What a big G2 group. A list with all the names somewhere?

They have Carapaz in the group, so not a bad situation for EF at all..
It was a 'whoever wants to go is allowed' break and they have 1 rider in there after attacking all day, Carapaz good but not the an ideal situation considering he's wasted so much energy already.
