I think so

Given the progress of technology, one would have to say yes. But the current pads are too heavy/bulky and constrain movement. They may not be perfect but may help with the abrasions more than saving bones from breaking.

htc did good there i think... the lead up to the finish.. but cavendish did bad looked like he gave up:S he must be on bad form these days..... thor got into a good position but petacchi is still so fast...
