Phil and Paul

Every day more whining about the Phil and Paul commentary.

You try doing that job, they gotta fill dead air. Yes Phil makes many mistakes, he has to keep talking.

Todd "Go Go" Gogulski does have some intelligent insights, they could use him at Vs. instead of Robbie Ventura and maybe even the lovable Bobke.

Somehow Matt Keenan seems to fill 'dead air' in a much more interesting way.

We need something to do during these stages. It's just waiting for the last 10k

Duffields the guy who used to used to think Armstrong time-trialled with a camelbak drinking system under his shirt.... no?

It makes Lance sound like a trans Sahara extreme endurance mountain bike rider with that one.

I never heard that, legendery stuff from Duffield.

Oh dear, first we have to endure the whining of Team Saxo because they had to ride over some rocks, and now we have to respect Phil because he can talk without stopping? Dang.

ES guys just said it's very windy today. They are about to turn and have a strong tailwind.

If they turn and get crosswinds, Astana will have to be on their toes to keep AC in the front group.

I love it when Paul comes out with all of the historic stuff, and Phil plays along about his co-commentator's great knowledge. All of this `knowledge' comes out of a guide the Tour issues to the press. Watch the French coverage and one of the guys comes out with the same facts only in French!

On a stage like today Duffers would filled the air time talking about the wine, cheese the meats of the region..you got the feel of the place.
Others may be more knowledgable and proper (Harmon) but also..... oh so boring.
Harmon hasn't said anything of intrest for the last 3 hours.

Harmon: "They have a tailwind in the last 30kms, so it will speed up."
Km 29 and the peloton almost at a standstill.

ES commentators just discussed how grim and unhappy Lance has looked for the whole Tour. They are right. Not just on the rainy days, but everyday, he looks like he's already over all this.

I have no commentary from the TV at all....
