It's already a kick in the teeth for the teams that they largely don't get the racing kilometres, taking away the points too seems like an unnecessary double punishment given that the lack of building form here will cost them points further down the line anyway.I wouldn't be too sure yet that there'll really be an official general classification with UCI points.
Has there been any example in the past that even came remotely close? The Tour of Britain was aborted early after the queen died, but that still meant 5/8 stages.

It's fewer points per kilometre than the shorter WCTT courses we've had.If nothing else, the winner will hold the record for most UCI points per kilometre raced forever...
