Nibali "I've still got the best numbers" did 43:35 in 2013. Perhaps the stage was very different? Still, today was fairly short (if loaded).
I think (without checking) all recent Angliru stages have been short.

Contador's first win in 2008 was over 200km and almost 6 hours.I think (without checking) all recent Angliru stages have been short.
I'm surprised it's so slow.I don't really get the surprise at the climbing time.
Short stage + 2020. I honestly thought they'd be closer to 43 minutes after softpedalling yesterday's stage.
Was trying the same as Nibali, with the same result.
Trying to show muscles having no muscles.

Nibali, needs to be noted, was attacking like crazy and blew up. Horner likely could've gone in the 42s if he'd gone from start to finish.
The overall is between Roglic and Carapaz. However there are still 3 riders capable of getting that last podium spot.
Carthy has finished most of the TT's he had a reason to ride seriously throughout his career in the top10. I believe he can surprise a few people.Carthy hasn’t been great in TTs, he put in a very good TT in the first one at the Giro last year.
wouldnt it be funny if carapaz pulled off a pogacar in TT, its even similar parcours tho shorter
Ey? Carthy has been noticeable in quite a lot of mountain stages for a few years now. He's very inconsistent so hasn't been a big threat to date much, but he's also now 26 so getting to the point where he ought to be able to put it together.Tbh, where the hell Carthy come from...
One more:What happened?
Ended up losing only 14...I would love Soler to do well so we can put this "you attack today, you crack tomorrow" narrative to bed forever and ever.
But I'm kinda sure he'll crack and lose the 30 minutes I predicted he would lose today.
Chill with the hate kiddoValverde, what a ridiculous loser.
He does make one think a little of Fernando Escartín.Congrats to Carthy. It's incredible how inefficient his climbing style was but he still won at the end. Carapaz tried but it wasn't enough to put more time into Roglic, who limited his losses and is one step closer to winning the Vuelta. There is only one more dangerous climb and a TT on tuesday, when he should put over a minute into Carapaz.
Yeah I think you are right from my memory of them.I think (without checking) all recent Angliru stages have been short.
Today showed the importance of a top quality domestique - Reckon Roglic would lose a minute today without Kuss - Hugh McCarthy is a decent ITTer - He'll do better than most in the top 10.
I'm sure Kuss has all of them covered.Very good job by Roglic but still he has many guys to cover in last week. TT can give him a buffer of 1-1:30 minutes to main rivals. I'm not sure if it's enough, we'll see.
